Breakfall

While it’s the first on our list, Breakfall is a skill worth getting early on in Assassins Creed Valhalla. For players who are a bit braver when dropping from high distances, this ability will keep your ankles intact.

Once unlocked, this skill will allow Eivar to automatically perform a roll when landing from dangerous heights. Reducing the less damage taken when he hits the ground.

Parry Damage

For players who are skilled at parrying this is a must-have. Allowing you to take full advantage of the parry mechanic in the game and deal some extra damage when doing so.

The Parry damage skill allows players to deal damage with every successful party they perform. If you’re struggling with parrying, we have a guide dedicated to learning how to parry in Assassins Creed Valhalla

Fight Ready

This is a recently added skill that came with the recent patch to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The ability fills one adrenaline bar before entering into any fight in the game.

This might be something not all players need, but it can be the difference between that last attack you need to take down a boss. Or the added edge a beginner to the game needs to come out victorious in battle.

Stomp

As a part of the bear skill tree, Stomp is an ability that can make your life a lot easier when it comes to taking out enemies. The Skill allows players to stomp on an enemy’s head when they are knocked to the ground.

This might take them out on impact, and if not, it will deal a huge chunk of damage either way. It’s a great ability as it eliminates having to use more adrenaline to take out a fallen enemy. a

Backstab

For the more stealthy player among us, backstab offers a neat perk that will make your sneaky attacks hit harder. The ability allows you to deal more damage and cause enemies to stagger when you land an attack directly on their back.

The skill is always active, so if you forget about its effect, landing an attack on your enemy’s back can still help you out of a tight spot. A definite must-have for players who like to catch their enemies off guard.

Advanced Assassination

Our mid point for one of the best skills in Assassins Creed Valhalla is for stealth users and is definitely a must-try for other players. The Advances Assassination skill allows you to take out high-level enemies in a single well-timed blow.

This can be found in the stealth tree and while it requires a few points to obtain (eight to be exact). It’s a skill we recommend everyone try out, as it makes combat more dynamic and gives you more options in battle.

Emergency Aim

This skill is a life-saver in Assassin’s Creed for any player trying to get the drop on their enemies while. Allowing you to quickly snap your aim onto an enemy if they detect you while sneaking.

Holding L2 will snap your aim to an enemy if they notice you, allowing you to quickly take them out with a well-placed bow show before they alert the rest of their buddies.

Missile Reversal

One of the more powerful abilities to be sure, and one that can sometimes feel a bit unfair, to your enemies at least. Missile reversal is an expensive skill, but it does exactly what it says on the tin.

By allowing you to catch and return to sender virtually any projectile that gets sent your way by pressing L1 on your controller or Q on your keyboard before it hits you. This is an ability that can save you regardless of your playstyle and works on every enemy.

Arrow Reinforcement

This is a great skill for melee and bow users in our opinion. By allowing you to fire arrows that won’t break and can be collected from enemies once they are taken down.

This is useful since you can fire off some shots at ranged enemies, and make your way to them either through melee or more bow shots. Then collect your arrows to reuse later. Fire, collect, repeat.

Explosive corpse

Our number one pick for the best skill in Assassins Creed Valhalla we think makes the top not just for its power, but for its tactical ability as well. This allows you to place explosives on downed enemies and when your enemies investigate it will explode, either taking them out or leaving them stunned.

This is then the perfect opportunity for an ambush for both melee and ranged players. Which gives you the ability to decide how you want a fight to play out, and control the battlefield through raw firepower.
