100 Thieves Signs Reapered as Head Coach, Releases Zikz

100T Reapered coach

One Hundred Thieves announced that Bok “Reapared” Han-gyu has joined their LCS roster as the team’s head coach for the upcoming 2021 LCS Summer Split. After a four-month hiatus, the Korean coach returns to the fray of competition.

Buckle up, everyone. One of the most sought-after free agent coaches in League of Legends has just found his latest destination in a career replete with success and stability.

In addition to Reapered’s signing, 100T announced they have parted ways with their incumbent head coach Anthony “Zikz” Grey after finishing spring in fourth for the regular season and Mid-Season Showdown, ending his one-and-a-half-year stay with the team.

Owning an LCS championship, five Worlds appearances, and loads of experience across five years of coaching under his belt, Repared was tabbed by 100T general manager Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith to be the man that can steer the team to greater heights and contend for a place in Worlds.

“There’s no one change that guarantees Worlds…but in the reflection [of the past split], a change in head coaching was something that made sense to me and specifically having Reapered available as a candidate, someone so accustomed to making Worlds, felt like a natural fit.

In accepting the position for 100T, Reapered cited the potential its players have that he believes can form together into creating a formidable lineup. With his coaching, 100T can break through the competitive barrier set by Cloud9, Team Liquid, and Team SoloMid and reach the sort of goals PapaSmithy set out.

Hundred Thieves began the 2021 Spring Split in grand style by going 5-1 to top the league at the third week en route to a fourth-place 11-7 finish.

Although they made the upper bracket at the start of the Mid-Season Showdown, they had to shuffle through a substitution in the mid-lane, switching starter Tanner “Damonte” Damonte for Tommy “ry0ma” Le, which resulted in a 6-6 record for the season’s second half, outlining possible issues within the team camp.

In the MSS, 100T faltered as they were eliminated in the second round of the lower bracket to Team SoloMid in four games.
