Return of The LA Thieves King

100 Thieves’ Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag looks to be making some incredible moves to the Call of Duty League scene in 2021. It’s been a long time coming for fans of the COD League as many have been asking Nadeshot for years when he’s coming back to the competitive scene for Call of Duty, and with the new Call of Duty League that launched earlier this year, headed by Johana Faries, it seemed like the perfect time for him to make his long-awaited return, but when it came time for the teams to be decided, 100 Thieves did not enter a team.

This is set to change for the 2021 season of the CDL, as 100 Thieves will be entering the Call of Duty League as “LA Thieves.” Nadeshot says in an interview with The Verge “For the last year, we’ve just felt a gap, or a hole, at the core of our community. It didn’t feel right, after winning two major championships, to be not a part of Call of Duty in some way. We had to get back. The opportunity was right. LA is the market we want to be in.” As far as the Los Angeles side of things goes, here’s what Haag had to say about it “LA has embraced another chapter in my career, and that’s something I’ve always been really appreciative of, it’s something that means a lot to me, to have another iteration of, hopefully, LA greatness. This is a big year for the Dodgers, a big year for the Lakers. This is an iconic sports city, and we want to add on to that prestige and that success.” A bit cheeky with that prestige reference, though I’m sure it was unintentional. Nadeshot also said that the success of battle royale mode Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile have also influenced the decision to return. The addition of a Call of Duty League team means 100 Thieves will now have competitive teams in games including Valorant, Fortnite, League of Legends, and now Call of Duty. The starting lineup for 100 Thieves CDL team is looking like @SlasheR_AL, @Kuavo, and @TJHaLy. @Drazah_, previously set to be a starter for OGLA will also be LA Thieves substitute. At the time of writing this article, it looks like LA Thieves will be looking for a fourth starter and coach.
