How are you finding the adjustments to Repeared’s coaching style?
I can say he’s very straight forward, the same goes for his coaching style. He’s trying to make everything simple for us, so I like his coaching style.
You finished 4th in both spring and the Mid-Season Showdown and showed very strong, promising performances. Do you think the changes made to the 100 Thieves roster will push 100 Thieves to achieve what they couldn’t do before?
Between third and fourth place there’s a big difference because you can go to worlds or not, which has a big impact. I definitely believe we can place at least third, maybe even first or second.
How do you think Abbedagge performed in his first LCS match?
I didn’t really know much about him before he joined us because I wasn’t really watching any specific players. We’ve scrimmed for a few weeks now, and I think his playstyle– I really like it. He’s sometimes aggressive and sometimes defensive, so I like his playstyle.
Who’s the best Gwen players in the LCS right now?
I can’t say any specific player because I haven’t played against all other teams yet, but I think I can say that I think a top laner will become the best Gwen player. I think she’s going to mainly be played in the top lane a lot.
What are your thoughts on the current meta? Are you comfortable with the champions in the meta?
Some champions are overpowered and some are just ok, I think most are very balanced. So it’s okay if I’m playing overpowered champions.
A lot of teams are playing the currently playing the Ezreal and Karma meta, what’s your thoughts on it, and why do you think it didn’t work out for 100 Thieves today?
It’s a very good combo in the bot lane, you can also flex Karma very well. You can use a lot of poke and kite pretty well. In this game we made some super obvious mistakes, especially in the early game, so we couldn’t snowball. That’s why we lost.
Most people have 100 Thieves in the top three power rankings for the Summer Split, does that preassure you and the team at all?
Peoples expectations are super high, so I’ve got a bit of pressure because want to perform really well, but these are normals things and sometimes I just need to tank it and sometimes it helps me improve to become a better player.
What are your thoughts on the new LCS format? Spring Split will be carrying over into summer, do you think this affects your chance at reaching worlds? Or do you think this a change for the betterand the future of the LCS?:
One game can be a butterfly effect, but I don’t think about it a lot. I’m always just thinking that we’re gonna play well and we’re going to win.
With Academy switching to a best of two, what are your thoughts on that? Do you think the LCS should stick to best of one’s or are best of two’s better?
I don’t really mind, I’m not sure which is better. Both have their pros and cons. One game is very short, and if you can prepare well for a best of one against a high-performance team, but if you do best of two, you’re usually the underdog unless you have really good performance. So I’m not sure which is better.
Has anything changed in the teams mentality going from spring to summer? Perhaps your approach to the game?
We’re going hiking a lot, we do some meditation and yoga in the morning, I think it helps a lot when we’re warming up, but we’ve still improved and we’re going to show it as soon as possible.
