We may be getting 200-player Warzone modes sooner than we think. An in-game leak suggests that they’re on the way, although there is no sign of what this means just yet.
Before Launch, 200-Player Warzone Modes Were Tested.
With battle royale titles being commonplace nowadays, not to mention a tough crowd to break into, Infinity Ward had to do something big to get Warzone to take off. Around march, it was revealed that Infinity Ward had been testing 200-player Warzone modes throughout development. This is alongside the traditional three and four people in a squad. Ultimately, as we all know, it seems they settled on the default of three people and a match size of 150.
However, while this was all going on, Patrick Kelly stated that 200-player Warzone lobbies were working internally. He expressed that there would be hope to bring it to the title later, but that’s all we got.
Twitter user @DissolvexD shared a screenshot that seemingly hints that 200-player Warzone lobbies are closer than you might think. The information was revealed through a pop-up message for new players.
On the left-most panel, behind the “MP Free Weekend” you can just about make out that it says BR 200 and Plunder 200.
Annoyingly, that’s all we get. We don’t know if this will increase the squad size at all, but my guess would be that it will operate at a four-man squad default. Just because of maths. 50 squads seems a reasonable amount for Verdansk, don’t you? Duos already hits 75, so would it even be that different?
