In ARK: Survivor Evolved, several dinosaurs are referred to as “Berry Gatherers” and may be used to gather berries. You may begin acquiring this food type straight away since it is one of the most accessible and common in the game. Here are the best berry gatherers for this job in ARK: Survival Evolved.

Table of Contents

  • Maewing
  • Stegosaurus
  • Therizinosaurus
    • An Independent Beast
  • Brontosaurus
    • A Gathering Beast

Maewing

ARK Survival Evolved 4 Best Berry Gatherers Maewing
Maewing mount, ready to gather berries

The Maewing can harvest fruit, meat, fiber, and hide early on, although not nearly as well as any late-game dinosaur. You may use the creature’s gliding speed for quick travel around the map. It can be maneuvered to achieve incredibly high speeds, possibly the fastest in the game.

Start the glide animation, then dive until the visual effect of speed appears. Then, when traveling at top speed, strafe left and right until another visual effect appears. Only then will you be able to feel the speed!

The Maewing can also automatically tend to your animal babies. To raise a child without problem, put the food that newborns typically consume in the Maewing’s inventory and activate the feeding trough mode. For a trough sign, babies might be in a pouch or very close together.

Stegosaurus

Bionic Stegosaurus, waiting to be tamed

The Stegosaurus has a 75% weight reduction for berries, which makes it one of the best berry gatherers and inventory dinosaurs you can tame in ARK. It has three plate modes: Sharpened Plate, a Heavy Plate, and a Hardened Plate. With those, Stegosaurus is excellent at harvesting fruit, thatch, and timber.

The C key is used by default to cycle among Stegosaurus’ three back-plate settings. The mode’s symbol will appear in the upper right corner of the screen. The mode’s name will appear at the top of the screen each time the C key is tapped.

The Sharpened Plate is the one you will want to use for berry gathering in ARK. When using the tail whip to attack, it has an armor-piercing effect, which is effective for collecting berries.

A mounted Stegosaurus with full stamina is almost unbeatable since it can deal damage without really touching its target. The main drawback is that unexpected targets might be hit by their attack range. Make sure the stegosaurus is facing the opponent when you are battling it.

Therizinosaurus

Therizinosaurus in the wild

A Therizinosaurus gains access to secondary level points in addition to its primary level points each time it levels up. Depending on whether a Therizinosaurus makes a strong strike or a delicate attack, players may increase its claw efficiency by up to 88 points, to a maximum of 165.7 percent in one category.

Because of its ability to collect practically everything with amazing efficiency, the Therizinosaurus is an excellent companion. Whether it’s gathering supplies for crafts or feeding your tames or yourself.

ARK: Survival Evolved’s Therizinosaurus gathers berries, crop seeds, wood, cactus sap, hide, chitin, and scrap metal with its biting attack.

An Independent Beast

When left alone in resource-rich locations, the Therizinosaurus will gather various resources similar to a Moschops. While few creatures will even attempt to attack it, most that do, if your tame has been appropriately leveled, will get far more than they bargained for.

One does not need to worry as much for the safety of their Therizinosaurus as for their Moschops though. Similarly, a wandering Therizinosaurus is considerably simpler for players to find and rescue later due to its comparatively enormous size.

When harvesting independently, it will gather any resources from the bush and tree nodes it enters that it can harvest from when given a rider’s instruction. Gamers can also set it to collect materials from corpses. If set to aggressive mode, it will automatically seek out, kill, and collect items from living targets.

Make sure Weight is leveled appropriately for this position since, like all other autonomous harvesters. The Therizinosaurus will stop gathering resources when it hits 50% of its maximum weight limit.

Brontosaurus

Excellent for acquiring resources. Quite probably the best berry gatherer in ARK: Survival Evolved. You can gather a ton of resources if you instruct the Bronto to assault nearby plants. Due to its enormous AOE, it can gather lots of materials, even those for which it is not specifically specialized, such as Wood and Thatch.

Although not very hostile or equipped for battle, Brontosaurus may nonetheless inflict a lot of harm on players or other dinosaurs. This is thanks to its primary weapon: mass. Their main attack is a tail swipe, which may cause 1 or 2 hits to kill low and mid level characters.

Simply walking on items can also result in their destruction, usually on purpose when they’re angry but occasionally merely by mistake. The tail swipe has a great reach, deals more damage than stomping, and will launch you in the direction of the swipe.

The health of the Brontosaurus is likewise quite high. Ranged weaponry or advanced hunting dinos are advised if you wish to kill one. Although it is sluggish, it has the third-best base Weight carrying capability in the game. If you equip a platform saddle, you may also store a lot of items on its back.

A Gathering Beast

Brontosaurus is one of the best endgame berry gatherers in ARK. To collect more than a hundred berries every swing, use their strikes on dense clusters of plants.

You may be able to gather more than 1500 Narcoberries in a single in-game night, depending on where you are. Furthermore, because of their massive weight capacity, they are efficient, although sluggish, movers of vast amounts of cargo.

The best berry gatherer in ARK: Survival Evolved is obviously a matter of opinion, but these four stand out above the others. These additional ARK: Survival Evolved tutorials and news may be of interest to you if you are looking to learn more things about the game:
