Praise the Golden God that is C3-PO! Battlefront II’s Age of Rebellion update lands later today!
The Age of Rebellion update comes with Co-Op content, two new reinforcements, four new blasters, and a number of new improvements and adjustments.
Table of Contents
Reinforcements Incoming!
Yub-Nub your way to victory with the Rebellion’s Ewok Hunter!
The Ewok Hunter is equipped with a Hunter’s Bow with dual firing modes that doesn’t show up on scanners when you fire. They also come equipped with a Valiant Horn. This ability improves their attacks, adds additional damage resistance, but has the drawback of showing you constantly on enemy scanners when in use.
Additionally, much like their Ewok Hunt counterparts, the Ewok Hunter has a Wisties Pouch that can be utilized to disrupt and burn enemies for a short period of time. This is all rounded-up with the Ewok Hunter’s Hunter’s Instinct. This ability uncovers and singles out weakened opponents.
Not so fast, Rebel Scum. The Empire’s ISB Agent isn’t taking any prisoners this time.
Equipped with two RK-3 blasters, the ISB Agent is a reinforcement geared for close-quarters combat. Assault Training offers the ISB Agent increased sprint speed and damage reduction; Imperial Intel reveals some of the closest enemies, similar to BB-9E’s ability; and Double Your Effort empowers nearby allies and heals their base health.
The ISB Agent doesn’t sound as appealing to play as the Separatist’s Droideka reinforcement, but… Dual pistols are fun, right?
Co-Operate On The Front Lines For The Rebellion, Or The Empire…
Keen to capitalize on the popularity of Battlefront’s Co-Op mode, the Age of Rebellion update adds seven new maps exclusively for the Rebellion era. Yavin, Endor, Tatooine, and Hoth are all included. Also, Kessel makes a surprise appearance! Finally, Star Wars anthology content is being supported. No Scarif yet, though, it seems…
Finally, onto the good stuff…
Need A New Blaster?
Battlefront II is FINALLY getting additional blasters! One for each class, too.
The Assault Class is getting the E-11D, which will undoubtedly be similar to the default Empire blaster, the E-11.
Officers can get their hands on the DL-18 blaster pistol with the Age of Rebellion update. Popular in the Outer Rim, it’s not the most powerful blaster available but has a good fire rate to balance that.
Heavy Troopers get the robust T-21. It fires continuously, powerfully, but slowly. Eh, you win some you lose some?
Specialists get to hark back to their Battlefront roots with the Cycler Rifle, though! It may seem crude, but it packs a punch. Just ask Teemto Pagalies! (He’s the guy from Phantom Menace who gets shot down during the Boonta Eve Classic!)
Not All The Changes Are As Obvious Though…
The Age of Rebellion update also includes a number of improvements to Leia’s hero character, Chewbacca’s bowcaster, Auto Players and more. This update aims to improve the Battlefront experience, and I for one am here for it.
No longer will the Empire’s Rocket Trooper have to deal with the RT-97C heavy blaster!
Here’s the Community Update Trailer, in any case:
