Crafting is a big part of Animal Crossing, Iron Nuggets are a big part of crafting. So, it makes sense that you’ll want to get your hands on some. However, how do you do that? This article should help you out!
If you want to craft anything that isn’t purely wooden in Animal Crossing, chances are you’ll need to get some Iron Nuggets. Thankfully, they’re not the hardest thing to find. All you need to do is whack a few rocks!
Unfortunately, you can’t just do this with your bare hands. This isn’t Minecraft, right? If you want to hit a rock, you’ll need an Axe or a Shovel. Both of these are simple to craft, or you can purchase Flimsy Quality versions of either one from those pesky Nook boys!
Once you start hitting a rock, materials should start to come out. You can get up to eight per rock, provided you don’t miss one of your hits.

These can be one of the following:
Stone ( I know, right? )
Clay ( Clay is fun? )
Iron Nuggets ( This is what we’re talking about! )
Gold Nuggets ( Very rare and fairly valuable. )
There’s no guarantee on which materials you’ll get, so one or two rocks might not be enough. Also, every time you hit a rock, there’s a little bit of knock-back from the impact. After a couple, you’ll be too far away or to the side to land the hit, so be careful to reposition yourself if you want to make sure you get all eight material drops. You can also dig holes or place items on either side of you to limit the available space for you to be knocked into.
Iron Nuggets aren’t just found on your island, thank god! If you need more, or you’re out and about, be sure to hit the rocks on the mystery islands you can visit with your Nook Miles Ticket. These cost 2000 Nook Miles and can be bought from the terminal in your Residential Services building.
Animal Crossing Iron Nuggets Are Used For A Lot
Now that you have Iron Nuggets falling out of your pockets, you might be wondering what to do with them. They are an extremely important part of crafting upgraded Tools, so it’s good to keep some spare for when your Axe breaks! But aside from this… The world is your Manila Clam!
Iron Nuggets can be used to create Tables and Chairs, Campsites, and even a set of armour! There’s far too many crafting items to list completely here, but the Animal Crossing Fandom Wiki has a whole page of well-organised DIY Recipes. You can check them out here:
