After more Nintendo Switch game stock arriving at retailers, Nintendo has once again claimed the top spot with the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the UK video game charts. With the current lockdown restrictions around most of the world, gaming saw a record high increase of $10 billion in sales across all platforms worldwide as people found ways to spend their time indoors.
The number 1 game in the UK this week is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, making it the first number 1 spot it has had since the game launched on March 20th. The game saw an impressive 53% increase in sales during the last week. This meant that FIFA 20 was knocked down to the number 2 spot despite only losing 1% in sales week on week.
Ringfit Adventure on the Switch also saw a huge jump from number 10 number 4 as people find new ways to keep fit at home. Its interesting to see older games such as GTA V and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still firmly in the Top 10 charts. Red Dead Redemption 2 also makes an appearance again in the number 10 spot. If you haven’t played it yet, it is coming to Xbox Game Pass on May 7th, a great opportunity to finally play it.
