As you may know by now, The Game Awards 2020 was home to a lot of announcements. One of these is ARK 2. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming sequel to ARK: Survival Evolved.
I don’t even know where to begin. Do you ever wonder whether enough is enough? In the immortal words of Ian Malcolm… They “were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should”.
It turns out that they also thought they should, so now ARK 2 is a thing. At this year’s Game Awards, we got a first-hand look at pretty lengthy cinematic trailer announcing the game.
It isn’t clear as to whether ARK 2 will be a narrative-based title, unlike the current ARK game. However, the emphasis on the specific characters in the Cinematic Trailer would suggest it might be?
ARK 2 Will Feature Baby Groo-…
Hang on… Let me Try Again.
The New ARK Game Will Feature Iron Gia-
Nope. One more go.
ARK 2 Will Feature That One Guy From The Car Movies
Yes, you read and saw that correctly. ARK 2 will have Vin Diesel of all people in it, presumably in an important role given the fact he’s in the strange CG trailer a lot.
To his credit, he doesn’t look half bad as a strange near-prehistoric tribal leader. However, he should probably drink some sort of Dinosaur-based Lemsip or something.
From the clip, we learn that Vin Diesel is playing Santiago Da Costa… Or, there’s someone who looks scarily similar to him in the game named that. To put it frankly, it raises a lot of questions.
He also appears to delete any record of this Da Costa bloke. So, that’s Vin Diesel embracing his new tribal life or stealing someone’s identity? Who knows. You’ll have to see it for yourself:
With any luck, this new CG trailer isn’t a huge lie and ARK 2 will have improved combat and graphics from ARK: Survival Evolved. If you haven’t played it, they’re pretty bad in ARK: Survival Evolved.
It is also being reported that ARK 2 will be an Xbox Console Exclusive, but will most-likely come to PC.
