A new Assassin’s Creed leak unveils a possible first look at a new VR game. This has fans of the franchise excited and hoping to experience the game in a brand new way. Here’s everything we know so far about the first look at Assassin’s Creed VR.Â
Let’s face it, VR titles are becoming more popular today. With the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive devices fine-tuning their technology. Giving users a more optimal experience with each new iteration.
Having seen the best and worst Assassins Creed has to offer, it would make sense that Ubisoft would want to get onto this platform to deliver players a brand new experience. And a leak has given us a glimpse of what that might look like.Â
In an April 22 post, Redditor Echiketto has claimed to have gained access to the beta for the new Assassin’s Creed VR title that is supposedly named Assassin’s Creed Nexus.
The leaker stated that the game is set for release in the next 12 months and mentioned some finer details about the game. In the short video shared with the post, we got a first look at the supposed VR title’s in-game menu and other features it might contain.
Assassin’s Creed VR Possible Gameplay
According to to the leaker, the VR game will have a similar arsenal as in previous Assassins Creed titles. Weapons like the iconic sword and hidden blade combo, throwing knives along with a crossbow for ranged offence, and smoke bombs for distracting enemies are all included.Â
The combat system is unique to the VR experience and features time-based mechanics. This means players have to wait until the enemy lowers their cover and to find the opportune moment to strike. Movement will be parkour based and the player will have to hold A while walking toward climbable objects in the game to leap over them or climb them.Â
The post has been met with both optimism and scrutiny since Ubisoft has not released any official statements about the game yet. So we cant confirm the leak to be true to the game’s representation at this point.
We do however think this is some great information to glean for the time being and give us a possible glimpse into what Assassin’s Creed in VR might look like.Â
