Best Apex Legends Keybinds (What Pros Use + Tips)

Updated:
apex legends keybinds

In any competitive game having your settings tweaked to perfection is halfway to the victory. Apex Legends is no exception. Best settings and keybinds will depend on what you find comfortable. But to have a good starting point here are the most important keybinds in Apex Legends as well as some keybind layouts pro players and content creators use.

Most Important Keybinds

To start working on our keybinds let’s determine which ones are the mouse important when it comes to playing Apex Legends. This will be based on my personal experience and on what pros seem to change from default the most (you can refer to the “Pro Apex Keybinds” section).

We will discuss all of the important keybinds that are unique to Apex. Those can be split into 2 categories: Abilities and Items. Other binds like pings, jump, sprint, etc. are way more subjective and carry on from game to game you play. So you probably already have a good idea for those, if not, there is nothing wrong with using the default settings.

Abilities

Every character in Apex Legends has two abilities. Those abilities can turn the tide of the fight when used right and not misclicked. If you came over to Apex from for example Overwatch you might have a habit of pressing Q to use your Ult. So make sure to bind all the abilities to the keys you are used to and find comfortable.

  • Tactical Ability
  • Ultimate Ability

Items

You will get shot and you will have to regen at some point using medkits, power cells, or anything else. Using the wheel to pick an item and then press the button (“Use Selected Health Item”) to use it can take quite a lot of time unless you already have it muscle memorized. If you don’t, it’s best to set keybinds for every sort of item or the ones you tend to use the most.

That includes:

  • Use Syringe
  • Use Med Kit
  • Use Shield Cell
  • Use Shield Battery

But be sure to bind “Use Selected Health Item” to something comfortable as well.

All the settings are as fresh as they can be (as of November 2021). The lists will contain all the crucial keybinds and If a certain keybind is missing from the list, that means it goes with the default setting.

How to Change Keybinds in Apex Legends?

Keybind settings menu in Apex Legends
Keybind settings in Apex Legends

To change keybinds in Apex navigate to the game menu in the bottom right corner (gear icon). There, choose “Settings” and in the setting, menu go to the “Mouse/Keyboard” tab. Here you can find all the related settings and keybinds.

Click on the keybind to set a new one or press the right mouse button to clear it. Be careful not to overlap the keys, you will get a red notification if you binded a key that was already in use but it fades away eventually.
