Best Gaming Chair – Three Options that Can’t be Beat

With so many options on the market, you are likely looking for the best gaming chair that you can buy. If you are not sure what a gaming chair is or whether they are a worthwhile investment, I wrote an entire article on that. If you already know you are in the market for a gaming chair, read on.

Picking the best gaming chair can be hard. It is even harder for me to recommend a chair to you, as gaming chairs can be incredibly personal. Additional complexity comes into play depending on where you live. I found out the hard way that not all companies ship worldwide.

With that all out of the way, let’s look at the top three best gaming chairs on the market.

Best Gaming Chair – Worldwide

Secretlab Omega – $359

If you have been around the industry a minute, you have head of Secretlab. Their most recognizable chair is probably the Omega. The Secretlab Omega is a best seller and award winner. On top of all of the accolades listed, they ship internationally! That’s a huge win, as many of the other chairs on the market do not.

The Secretlab Omega comes standard on PU Leather with options to pay more for Softweave Fabric or NAPA Leather. Both the PU Leather and Softweave Fabric have a few color options and limited editions available. Odds are that you can find an Omega that fits the aesthetic you enjoy.

If you worry about durability, don’t. The Omega has metal armrests, class 4 hydraulics, and an aluminum wheelbase. On top of these features, Secretlab provides a five-year warranty.

When it comes to comfort, the Omega has you set. The armrests, which I usually have issues with on a chair, have four-directional customization. The high-back racing-style chair uses a cold-cure foam for consistent comfort. Additionally, the chair comes with a memory foam neck and lumbar support pillow. If all these options don’t appease you, know that the Omega offers multi-adjustment for seat height and reclining. If napping is your thing, the Omega can recline far enough to support that.

Best Gaming Chair – USA

RESPAWN RSP-400 – $320

Why should you care about RESPAWN? They are a gaming chair manufacturer backed by a decades-long furniture manufacturer. This pedigree means that RESPAWN came to the market with a level of expertise that most gaming chair companies can’t match. The RSP-400 is my favorite gaming chair, period.

To get it out of the way, this is probably one of the more “racing seat” inspired chairs I have sat in. I love the feel of that type of seat. I also happen to do a lot of sim racing. If you don’t like the security of a racing seat-style chair, it may not be for you. Other than that potential negative due to personal preference, I promise this is a phenomenal chair.

Much like the Secretlab Omega, this chair is constructed out of sturdy materials. This beast with its steel tubing can support up to four hundred pounds. RESPAWN also offers an outstanding warranty. It is a little complicated to explain, but essentially, they cover the chair for two years. If you want to know more about the warranty, it can be found here.

Four-dimensional armrests and many combinations of height and tilt make this chair very customizable. Again, if you need an excellent napping chair, the RSP-400 can lock as far back as 130 degrees.

Best Gaming Chair – UK

DXRacer Tank Series – $509

DXRacer’s Tank series gaming chair is a large, sturdy, comfortable, and feature-rich gaming chair. If you are in the UK and don’t like the Secretlab options, this is your next best bet.

I will keep this pretty short, as this chair is pretty much comparable with the RESPAWN offering we just discussed. For your money, you will get a big, comfortable, PU leather, racing seat-style gaming chair. The chair uses a metal frame and an aluminum base to support upwards of four hundred pounds. The DXRacer is beyond durable, utilizing the same class of pneumatics as Secretlab and offering a lifetime warranty on the frame.

Much like the other chairs on the list, the Tank series comes with four-dimensional armrests. This chair also supports tons of options to customize your height and reclining. I am not sure why everyone needs a gaming chair that lets them nap, but the DXRacer offers a deep recline to support your napping habits.

Final Verdict

This list is all an opinion. As I mentioned in the opening, what chair is best for you is an incredibly personal choice to be made. I also acknowledge that this list is shorter than a lot of “best of” lists. There is a reason for that. Many publications care about content length and not necessarily the quality of recommendations they are making. I wanted to distill the options down to the best.

An interesting note that I will call out to you is that the RESPAWN chair is the only chair that does not have worldwide shipping. Again, that is unfortunate, since I love their stuff. What this means for you is that you have at least two great options. If you don’t like those options, pay attention to the similar features these chairs have. All the best chairs share some combination of these features.

You won’t go wrong with any of the options on this list.
