Beyond Good & Evil Movie In The Works At Netflix

Published:

Rob Letterman, Detective Pikachu Director, is allegedly working on a Beyond Good & Evil movie for Netflix.

As Video Games grow ever-popular, as do their movie adaptations. Hell, even those old Mortal Kombat movies have a cult following.  Now it seems another cult classic is making an appearance on the small screen (from a big screen director). Rob Letterman may not be a man you know by name, but you’ll know his work. He directed Detective Pikachu which surprisingly handled live-action Pokemon pretty well.

Anyway, a Beyond Good & Evil movie is coming to Netflix. Did anyone ask for it? Maybe. Are we excited? Absolutely. The 2003 action-adventure game follows Jade, an investigative reporter, as she uncovers a planet-wide alien conspiracy while working with a resistance movement. It’s a pretty solid game with a photography mechanic you don’t often see pop up.

Beyond Good & Evil Movie To Be A Mix Of Live-Action And Animation

A story from the Hollywood Reporter on the announcement has suggested that the Beyond Good & Evil Movie will be a mixed-media production. On top of this, it’s reportedly going to be a direct adaptation from the original game. This is despite Beyond Good & Evil 2 being currently in development at Ubisoft. According to reports, the film will be produced by Ubisoft Film & Television for Netflix, which is led by Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin.

MyCast.io is always a fun place to look for speculation regarding casting, and it hasn’t disappointed regarding Beyond Good & Evil. Camilla Cabello and Jessica Stroup are suggestions for Jade (the game’s protagonist) with Jon Favreau being a suggestion for Pey’j.
