In Black Ops Cold War Zombies, dying is a thing of the past. Now, starting Round 10 you can Exfil from Die Maschine. But, what does that mean?
Black Ops Cold War brings a new feature to Zombies that promises to change up the traditional gameplay format and bring a new wave of strategies and tactics to the mode.
Here’s the official quote from Treyarch on what Exfil means… It really does encapsulate the whole mood behind this feature:
” Why die if you don’t have to? With the new option to exfil from the map when your squad can’t last much longer, you can roll the dice and try to survive long enough to escape with some extra rewards… but it won’t be easy.“
Black Ops Cold War Zombies’ Exfil Starts At Round 10
Exfiltration is an optional escape that starts after Round 10 and appears every five rounds after.
You’ll be able to return to the starting area of the map, currently only Die Maschine, and call for Exfil on a radio. It’s important to note that in Co-Op games, a majority of players must vote to initiate exfiltration for this process to begin.
What happens next is the exciting part…
The round will end as normal and then players will recieve a new objective: reach the exfil site within the evacuation time limit.
Zombies are going to come thick and fast when this starts, desperately trying to stop you and your squad from escaping. Once you’ve reached the Exfil spot, the extraction helicopter will fly in and hover above you until you can clear the LZ.
When it is cleared enough, it will land and you will have to fight your way onto the chopper.
This usually involves clearing anywhere between 45 and 70+ enemies within the LZ before the 1min 30s counter runs down.
If you Exfil successfully, you will be rewarded with bonus XP and the chance to earn bonus Raw Aetherium Crystals. If you fail… It’s game over.
Black Ops Cold War Zombies introduces the Exfil feature as just one of a host of new additions to Black Ops‘s tried-and-tested Zombies mode. A Ping System, Weapon Rarity, and Perk Upgrades are also coming to the mode.
