Cheating has become quite a problem in Call Of Duty Warzone, with Activision banning over 70,000 cheaters, and they’ve likely just scratched the surface.
Common hacks include giving the player the ability to automatically hit enemy heads, shoot through walls and play without recoil etc.
Cheating is very common in PC games, especially very competitive games such as Call Of Duty, CS:GO & Fortnite. It is not as common to come across cheaters and hackers on console games. It seems it’s harder to do on console, whereas on PC it is much easier. The problem is that cross-platform play has become increasingly popular online, bridging the gap that platforms once created, bringing everyone together.
Console players are generally at a disadvantage over PC players in a lot of online games due to lower frame rate, lack of input options etc. Now console players are finding themselves facing PC cheaters and are finding ways to not have to play with them.
Players are now turning off cross play, cutting themselves off from the PC player base. While this is a solution, its frustrating if you have any friends who play on a different platform. By disabling cross play, it generally takes longer to find a lobby for you because it won’t place you in a lobby with players from other platforms and you may also experience higher ping as you might have to be connected to a server further away.
