CDL 2021: Dallas Empire Huke Joins LA Thieves

Published:

After the Dallas Empire had benched young superstar Cuyler “Huke” Garland, there were constant rumours surrounding his future at the team. Today it was announced that he would be released from the Dallas Empire, and minutes later, it would be announced that Huke has joined LA Thieves in a shocking turn of events.

The 21-year-old is a multi-fps champion as he also was won tournaments in Halo, as well as the 2020 CDL Championship, which he won with the Dallas Empire. His skill within the FPS genre must not be underestimated.

Huke will be replacing the recently benched TJHaly on the LAT roster. Which means that the LAT roster consists of Huke, Kenny, Venom, and Drazah. This roster is highly skilled and will look to make their mark on an extremely competitive league.

The 2020 World Champion will look to improve the Los Angeles Thieves this season, by adding his high skill and intensity to the roster.

In addition to his skill in the game, he also exemplified his desire to win and succeed. This was especially evident when he took a $100k pay cut in order to build a championship roster in 2020. The pay cut was taken in order to ensure that Dallas Empire teammate Shotzzy’s buyout from Spylce (which became the Toronto UItra) would have been subsidized.

The loss of Huke would mean that two players, out of the five that won the 2020 CDL Championship are no longer with the roster. As Eugine “Clayster” Eubanks, was cut days after, due to the rule change which turned that league into 4v4, from 5v5.

Huke and his new LA Thieves teammates will be facing the New York Subliners, and former Dallas Empire teammate Clayster on Saturday, May 8th 2021.
