The Cloud9 VALORANT Team made Daniel “Vice” Kim an official member of the team yesterday after he competed with the squad for a few months. Vice first made an appearance with the North American org in the Immortals First Light event on June 15. He then competed under the ProspectsGG name for the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers VALORANT Showdown before competing with C9 ever since.
Kim competed for C9 in CS:GO in 2019 before making the switch to Riot’s shooter. The Cloud9 VALORANT team is now complete. Vice will play primarily as Cypher for the team, opening up the map for fraggers TenZ and Relyks.
C9 is coming off of a lackluster performance at the FaZe Clan Invitational, where they placed out of top 4. They are still number 7 in the world on VLR.gg’s rankings. They did place third in the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series this past weekend, defeating Renegades, Homeless and Envy before falling to TSM.
“[I’m] switching to VALORANT mainly because after four years of competing in professional CS:GO, I grew a little stale with CS:GO and I wanted to start a new chapter,” Vice said in the video.
