Destiny 2 Beyond Light: Here’s How to Obtain Gear from Vaulted Destinations

On November 10, all gear, quests, and everything related to Mars, Mercury, Titan, Io, and The Leviathan will be entering the Destiny Content Vault (DCV). Bungie is adding 2 new kiosks with Beyond Light. Here’s how you can obtain Exotic and Legendary gear even after these destinations are vaulted in Destiny 2 Beyond Light:

The Quest Archive will be found next to the Postmaster. “Our hope is that this removes some of the confusion when trying to track down the odd quest that you previously discarded. Additionally, this will be the place for any veteran players to pick up the New Light Quest on November 10, if they have a strong desire to experience new player tutorials and the (re-)introduction to the Cosmodrome.” I’m glad that Bungie has clarified how and where these lost quests will be found.

“Next up, the Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive will be found by the Vault. Here, players may acquire various Exotics and Legendary Pinnacle/Pursuit weapons that were once available through now-retired quests. As many of these Exotics were tied to lengthy quests or difficult objectives, we wanted to make sure their prices reflected those previous efforts. Players will need an amount of Glimmer, destination materials, masterworking materials, and an Exotic Cipher or Ascendant Shard in order to purchase the Exotic or Legendary which they desire. We’re also introducing a currency, Spoils of Conquest, which can only be acquired when completing raids. This currency will be required for Exotics previously tied to Vaulted raids.”

This is great news for players that have been scrambling to finish out that last planetary exotic quest or panic-raiding in the hopes of getting their first (and last) Anarchy or Tarrabah drop. As long as you have the materials (and it’s a lot of materials) then you’ll be able to purchase these vaulted-destination-tied Exotics. There is also a new currency being introduced called “Spoils of Conquest” which can only be acquired after a raid completion, this currency will be used to obtain Exotics previously tied to Vaulted raids. I love this. This is great. Bungie is finally giving players a reason to keep doing raids to obtain this currency for Exotics that can no longer be acquired. I feel like this is very reasonable to ask of players. If you want a raid weapon, you should have to do a raid, just as Bungie intended. Bungie is also requiring an Exotic Cipher to acquire these Exotics, which up until now have been extremely rare, only having a single source of acquisition and even then, players can only obtain one per season. In Destiny 2 Beyond Light, there will also be one available as part of the Season Pass, but now “Xur will also offer a quest to earn one Exotic Cipher on a weekly cadence.” This is also great news, though it’s unclear if there will still be an inventory limit as you can only hold one at a time currently.
