You may have seen some mention of the Destiny 2 Iron Banner about… But do you want to know what it is? Well, here’s all you need to know about it.
The Iron Banner is a limited-time Crucible event in Destiny 2. It pops up for about a week every month and, unlike regular Crucible conflicts, in the Iron Banner… Level advantages are enabled. This is a true gauntlet for the best of the best and should only be attempted if you’re confident that you’re strong enough to compete.
Originally, the event was introduced through Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion. It worked in a similar fashion to Destiny 2’s iteration, with weapons and armour up for grabs. Destiny 2’s Iron Banner starts and ends at a weekly reset.
In order to participate, players must first do the following…
First, you have to reach Lord Shaxx in the New Light Quest;
Then, you have to speak with Lord Saladin in the Tower Courtyard. You don’t need any specific expansion passes to compete, though! So it’s worth trying out, at least.
Destiny 2 Iron Banner Rewards
As it stands, if you complete an Iron Banner Bounty, you’ll receive a couple of rewards. Firstly, you get 50 Iron Banner tokens. Secondly, you will get some gear from the Iron Banner armour set or Iron Banner weapons. There’s also a questline that’ll help you unlock the armour, but not all of it. These quests get you one piece of each set of Iron Banner armour, with one class-specific item.
With these Iron Banner tokens, though, you’ll be able to level up Lord Saladin to get a Legendary Engram. This will contain a random weapon or armour and is well-worth the contest!
