DOOM Eternal Just Got Shinier With Update 1

Published:

Yesterday, DOOM Eternal got its first update. Through it, Bethesda added Empowered Demons, the Precious Metal Event, and several quality of life fixes. This update does not appear to count towards the announced plans for additional story DLC for Doom Eternal.

DOOM Eternal’s first event, the Precious Metals Event, will run from May 14 to June 18.

Doom Eternal Update 1 Trailer

It’s Time To Get Shiny With DOOM Eternal’s Precious Metals Event.

As seen in the trailer above, the Precious Metals Event brings a whole host of new cosmetic items to DOOM Eternal. It appears that these can be earned through special Event XP. Slayers can get Event XP through playing Campaign or BATTLEMODE as well as a series of weekly challenges. You can get a fedora for the Cacodemon. What’s not to love?

As If DOOM Eternal Wasn’t Hard Enough!

Regular Demons too easy for you? Well id Software and Bethesda have you covered. The first update for DOOM Eternal has brought a feature to the intense first-person bloodbath that is DOOM Eternal. A Demon becomes an Empowered Demon after successfully killing a Slayer. Sounds simple enough, right? Killing these Empowered Demons will get you more vital resources and bonus event XP! There’s also the satisfaction of succeeding where someone else has failed… Which isn’t a bad thing.

I don’t even know what’s going on with that thing…
