Bethesda’s DOOM Eternal is finally getting a Switch release, the date has been announced as December 8. There’s also a new trailer! Here’s everything you need to know.
DOOM Eternal is finally making it’s way to a Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch. Earlier, Bethesda, id Software, and Panic Button announced that it will be coming as a digital release on December 8.
What is interesting is that DOOM Eternal will be utilising the Nintendo Switch’s gyro controls. This will give players a different, and hopefully enjoyable, take on DOOM Eternal‘s chaotic gunplay.
Below, you can see a fresh new look thanks to the newest trailer from Bethesda:
Everything else seems pretty standard when you consider we know a lot about DOOM Eternal already. Here’s a more official word on what to expect:
RAZE HELL at home or on the go – the critically acclaimed DOOM Eternal is coming to Nintendo Switch on December 8th.
Destroy every demon that stands in your way with a massive arsenal of weapons, gear and abilities. Improve your aim with a control option that allows you to aim using gyro controls. The option can be used in conjunction with the control stick for the perfect blend of immersion and accuracy.
DOOM Eternal lets Nintendo Switch owners step into the boots of the legendary DOOM Slayer and conquer Hell’s armies in an epic battle to save humanity from extinction. The only thing they fear… is you.
Sadly, there’s no word on a physical release for DOOM Eternal on the Switch. Than means the Nintendo eShop is the only way to get it when it launches.
Obviously the Nintendo Switch doesn’t exactly have the same level of oomph an Xbox, PlayStation, or PC has… So, it won’t be an exact copy of those versions. However, DOOM Eternal should run smoothly enough on the Nintendo Switch. It might just look a little worse? The Witcher III, for example, lost a lot of it’s environmental details in it’s Switch release.
Will you be picking up the DOOM Eternal Switch Release on the date above? Or, are you not that fussed? Let us know in the comments!
