After a month and a half of silence, the two time champ Dr DisRespect is streaming again, only this time on YouTube. Yesterday, we reported that Doc began a live stream of nothing but music. Today, the stream actually began with Dr DisRespect on camera and playing video games. At peak viewership, Doc had over 511,000 viewers watching live.
During the early part of the stream, he was, of course, asked about his Twitch ban, which he addressed and stated that: “I don’t know why I was banned”. He also claimed his legal team were dealing with Twitch, and he has to be careful about what he says, as there is a lot of money at stake. It is unclear whether Dr DisRespect knows the reason or not, but as of right now, he hasn’t made it public.
There was also no word as to whether Doc has signed an exclusive deal with YouTube or whether he is streaming as a free agent, meaning he may return to Twitch if he gets unbanned. But for now, Doc is streaming on YouTube and has had big early success. During the stream, the stat was constantly full of donations and new Memberships, so much that he had to turn off alerts on his stream. Perhaps this overwhelming success might encourage him to stay, if he hasn’t already signed on the dotted line.
But it is possible he is a free agent still, especially as it seems the legal situation with Twitch is still ongoing. If he comes to an agreement then he may be able to return to Twitch.
