One more CS:GO event is coming in hot. DreamHack Open 45 is kicking off Jun 29 – Jul 3 with a total prize pool of $100,000 and ESL Pro Tour points at stake. The prize pool will be split between two regions: North America ($70,000) and Asia ($30,000).
While IEM Summer 2021 is an S-tier event, DreamHack Open 45 is a Challenger (A-tier) event and the points earned there will contribute towards the next ESL Pro Tour Championships: IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne in 2022.
North American tournament will feature 2 groups of 4 teams each. The group stage will be played out in GSL Bo3 format and 2 teams will advance to the playoffs. Playoffs are played in Bo3 Single Elimination bracket with Bo5 Grand Finals.
Teams spots are divided into: 6 spots based on the ESL World Rankings and 2 will receive invites via ESEA Qualifiers.
In North America, this is how the prize pool will be split:
1st – 100 points, $35,000
2nd – 80 points, $35,000
3rd – 40 points, $35,000
4th – 40 points, $35,000
5th- 20 points, $35,000
6th – 20 points, $35,000
7th – 0 points, $35,000
8th – 0 points, $35,000
The Asian region has only 4 teams participating. The bracket for the Asian region is the Bo3 Double Elimination bracket and Bo5 Grand Final with a 1-0 advantage to the team coming from Upper Bracket. Team spots here are divided into 2 teams from ESEA Qualifiers and 2 more from ESL World Rankings.
