A slideshow from an internal Epic presentation displays potential skins that the company is trying to develop. Notably, the documents show plans for Fortnite skins for characters such as Samus Aran, Naruto, Katniss Everdeen, The Bride (from Kill Bill), Snake Plissken, John McClane, and more.
Today marks the first day of the trial between Epic Games and Apple over anti-competitive practices, and the documents were presented as part of Epic’s case against Apples. It would be interesting to see these characters added to the massively popular game, Fortnite.
The slides, courtesy of The Verge, also reveal plans for future collaboration in Fortnite, including a basketball mini-game and a LeBron Games skin meant to promote NBA and, possibly, the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy film.
The presentation slides also feature characters already added to Fortnite as skins, such as Master Chief, Kratos, and Sarah Connor. So, there’s reason to believe that seeing Samus and the other aforementioned characters will be added to Fortnite.
It’s interesting to note that Samus is part of a plan to be added to Fortnite, given Nintendo’s iron grip handle on their IPs, and their reluctance to let other companies use them.
But should Samus make her way into the battle royale game, it could mean that Fortnite content in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be theoretically possible, possibly as a Spirit Event, or maybe even as a fighter.
However, it’s possible that it was Epic Games that approached Nintendo, which the latter agreed to, so perhaps the idea of a Fortnite character being in Smash Bros. never materialized.
Samus’ appearance in Fortnite could also be used as a promotion for the upcoming Metroid Prime 4 game. We have still no information about it, other than Retro Studios being hard at work developing it, but fans are hoping to see it this year at E3.
