Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Mobile news, release date

Rumors and leaks are lining up to suggest that Rainbow Six Siege: Mobile is expected to be coming to our pocket devices in the near future.

Here’s what we have for the latest news, release date, and more for Rainbow Six Siege’s mobile port.

We still don’t currently have a concrete release date for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Mobile just yet. However, according to rumors, fans should expect Ubisoft will unveil the mobile port for Rainbow Six Siege next month on April 6th.

The game is believed to be in development in a collaboration with Tencent/WeGame. We will likely know a lot more in early April, but for now, the information is a bit murky. Based on an earnings call document from Tencent shown below, we can see “Projects with Ubisoft” listed under the “Building on Multi-year investments to drive future growth section.”

Judging by the ordering shown, it seems like whatever that project is, it’s likely an early 2023 project. Assuming that Rainbow Six Siege Mobile is coming, this could well mean a release date somewhere in the first half of next year. But, we’ll still need to wait for April 6th to know more.

It also wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see the likes of Rainbow Six Siege appear in a mobile format in the near future. After all, other games in the same genre and similar overall gameplay style have already done so, such as Respawn Entertainment with Apex Legends: Mobile.

Given the hype around that title, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Rainbow six follow a similar path and also go mobile in the near future – the only real question is when not why.

It’s worth remembering that Rainbow Six has been an enduring success since its release in 2015, with 70 million total players across all platforms according to Ubisoft back in December 2020, which allows us to conclude the demand for the title on our phones is likely there, waiting to be tapped.

And with all of that in mind, a Reddit thread posted some time back in the /r/GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit highlighted some interesting questions in a survey sent from Ubisoft Halifax specifically to mobile gamers. Among those questions were “Do you recognize this game?” with an image of Rainbow Six and questions about mobile game playtime. The two together in the same survey certainly indicate an interest in expanding Rainbow six to mobile devices.
