PRE-SHOW

Dragon Quest XI S

Dragon Quest XI was a huge success on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, and now the game is coming to the Xbox One with Dragon Quest XI S, one of the highest rated RPGs of all time, and a game players can easily sink hundreds of hours into. Check out the trailer below:

Exomecha

During the pre-show, a new multiplayer game called Exomecha was revealed. The game reminded me of Crysis with the way the character moved and gun placement but is a high-action multiplayer game with mechs. Exomecha will be free to play and will launch late 2021. Check out the trailer below:

Watch Dogs Legion

Ubisoft showed off some more footage from the upcoming Watch Dogs Legion. The game will launch on Xbox One on October 29th and later on Xbox Series X.

Echo Generation

A new World Premiere was revealed of a new quirky looking RPG called Echo Generation, this looks like a lot of fun. The game will be optimized for Xbox Series X and will launch in 2021.

Hello Neighbor 2

A sequel to Hello Neighbor was revealed with Hello Neighbor 2. An alpha is now available for sign up at HelloNeighbor2.com

Check out the trailer:

ID@Xbox

A whole host of smaller independent games were revealed from the ID@Xbox Studios. Check them out here:

Balan Wonderworld

Square Enix revealed a brand new game called Balan Wonderworld, made by creators who worked on Sonic and NiGHTS. The game focuses on music and theater and has over 80 costumes with unique abilities. This game has won me over and is the highlight of the pre-show. Check the trailer below:

MAIN SHOW

After the pre-show with Geoff Keighley we got the main show from Xbox with exclusive gameplay of Halo Infinite and more. Here is everything that happened.

Halo Infinite

First off was a first look at the gameplay of Halo Infinite. The game looks absolutely stunning and has new weapons and mechanics such as a sprint shield and grapple hook. Halo Infinite will also run at a flawless 60fps. Check out the gameplay here:

State Of Decay 3

State Of Decay 3 was revealed to be coming to Xbox Series X and Windows 10 and will be available on Game Pass. No release date given. Check out the reveal trailer:

Forza Motorsport

A new Forza game was announced for Xbox Series X and PC. The game will run at 60fps and the trailer was capture in-engine.

Everwild

Everwild is a cel-shaded game made by Rare. It has a very BOTW vibe to it, but not much information was given. Check out the trailer:

Tell Me Why

Next is a game that gave definite Life Is Strange vibes and seems to be a very story-driven game. The game’s first chapter will be available on August 27th.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps was released a few months ago for Xbox One and PC. For the Xbox Series X, it is being enhanced to run at 4K resolution and 120fps, with improved graphics and sound design. This will be the definitive version to buy.

The Outer Worlds: Peril Of Gorgon

The Outer Worlds launched last year and definitely has a “Fallout in space” kind of vibe to it. Its first expansion, Peril of Gorgon, will be released on September 9th.

Grounded

If you like the look of this trailer, you don’t have long to wait, because Grounded will be released on July 28th on Xbox One, Windows Store and Steam as an early access game. The game will later be optimized for Xbox Series X. This is a highlight of the show for me; this really stood out as being a game I want to play.

Avowed

Avowed is a first-person RPG from Obsidian. Unfortunately, we don’t have more details than that, but it looks like it could be good.

As Dusk Falls

As Dusk Falls is an interactive drama. I definitely got a Telltale vibe from this game, and that isn’t a bad thing. The game will launch on Xbox Series X and PC on Game Pass.

Hellblade 2

Hellblade 2 was announced last year, and while we didn’t get any more details, there will be a behind the scenes diary series on the Ninja Theory YouTube channel.

Psychonauts 2

Psychonauts 2 has been a long-anticipated game, and today we got a new trailer for it featuring Jack Black who sung us a song. It is really cool to see Jack Black involved in video games again; who doesn’t love Jables?

Destiny 2

We know that many current-gen games will be making their way to next gen: Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege and many others. Today, we found out that Destiny 2 will be coming to Game Pass in September and Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play Destiny 2 on their mobile via the cloud. Destiny 2 will also be optimized for the Xbox Series X, being playable at 4K 60fps.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

We didn’t really get any details about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 except that it will launch on Xbox Series X and PC.

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide

I haven’t played too many Warhammer games, or know much about it, but this looked great. It will launch in 2021 on Xbox Series X and PC.

Tetris Effect: Connected

It was a bit random to see a Tetris game, but it is a great way to connect with people, as the name states. Tetris Effect: Connected will launch Holiday 2020 on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.

The Gunk

The Gunk seems like a really interesting game. It looked like players use a vacuum to create new paths to traverse the environments. Not much was revealed about the game except that it will launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and will also be on Game Pass and part of Xbox’s Smart Delivery program.

The Medium

The Medium is perhaps the most intriguing game revealed today. It features Dual-Reality gameplay which will have the game render 2 different worlds in real time. It seems like the game features some kind of light and dark world, and the player will have to switch between them. It truly shows the power of the Xbox Series X if it can render 2 different worlds at the same time, making for seamless transitions between the 2. It will launch on Xbox Series X and PC on Game Pass.

Phantasy Star Online 2

Phantasy Star Online 2 is not a new game. In fact, it launched in 2012. But it only got a Western release in May 2020. In 2021, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC on Game Pass.

CrossfireX

CrossfireX is due out later this year and is a lot like Call Of Duty. It has now been revealed the game will have a campaign mode alongside multiplayer and will launch later this year on Xbox Series X and Xbox One (as well as other platforms) and will be part of the Smart Delivery program.

Optimized For Xbox Series X

In addition to all the new Xbox Series X games revealed, plenty of current games will be making their way to the new console but optimized for the Xbox Series X. This will see games such as Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5 and Sea Of Thieves playable at higher resolution and frame rates than the Xbox One. Over the holiday season there will be over 100 games playable on Xbox Series X either newly released games or optimized for Series X games.

Fable

Finally is a reveal that many of us have been wanting for years. Fable is coming back! There were no real details given except it will launch on Xbox Series X and PC on Game Pass at some point. Due to no in-game footage, real trailers or release date, it will likely be late 2021 or 2022.
