EXCEL ESPORTS has announced the entry into the highly-rising competitive VALORANT scene with the signing of Ignition Series Champion, David “Davidp” Prins who will be the captain of the team.
Alongside this move into VALORANT, EXCEL ESPORTS has made the main focus to select a team captain and a balanced coaching staff to build a roster that will consist of every quality to compete at the highest possible level. With an analytic approach, EXCEL has been holding player trials which consist of personality and performance tests to ensure the quality and talent of players – both things that align with their competitive goals.
Captain David “Davidp” Prins has huge experience under his belt, coming over from G2 Esports where he was included in a dominating roster which won every single Ignition Series (7) in Europe, including the big names such as BLAST Twitch Invitational, Vitality European Open and We Play! Invitational.
His massive experience in the VALORANT scene will surely boost the roster around him and drive it to aim and achieve high, as they set their sight on competing in the VALORANT Champions Tour later on this year.
“Ever since VALORANT was first announced we knew it was going to be a title with huge potential and one that we could thrive in. However when it came to expansion we really wanted to take our time and find players and coaches that aligned with out vision so when we started talking to Davidp it felt like such a natural fit. We have big ambitions and are looking for the best and most promising talent to build out the roster and reate a lasting legacy.”said Kieran Holmes-Darby, Co-Founder & Chief Gaming Officer, EXCEL ESPORTS
“I am really excited to have found a home with EXCEL ESPORTS. Since starting my journey in VALORANT I have showcased my ability to not only win trophies but grow and adapt my playstyle. I can’t wait to show everyone what we can achieve”said David “Davidp” Prins.
Over the past months EXCEL ESPORTS has cemented its brand growth ambitiously by reaching multiple milestones. Most notably is the brand update – it helped setting a purpose driven manifesto, naming footballer Dele Alli as its new worldwide ambassador and the debut of its BBC Documentary, Fight for the First: EXCEL ESPORTS, which was voiced by the Golden Globe and BAFTA , “Peaky Blinders” actor Cillian Murphy.
