To cement itself in Fortnite, the British Competitive Gaming Brand EXCEL ESPORTS has signed Jacob ‘Verox’ Gilbert to play alongside Wolfiez in Fortnite Competitive.

Verox is joining EXCEL with his past accolades including appearances in 7x FNCS finals including a 3rd place finish in Season X as well as a top place finish at Dreamhack Open Solo finals and 10 top placements in Fortnite Cash Cups. Verox’s first tournament will be the Fortnite Championship Series Chapter 2 Season 7 event starting on 29th July.

Verox will be joined by Jacob ‘FreeMedou’ Williams who takes on the role of Fortnite Manager for EXCEL to support the players in all aspects of the competition.

EXCEL’s accord with Fortnite doesn’t stop there as last year the brand signed Tottenham Hotspur footballer and gaming fan Dele Ali. Dele’s enthusiasm towards Fortnite is widely known among his fans when he performs popular Fortnite dances.

“Verox is an extremely talented individual and has shown an incredible amount of consistency over recent periods. Fortnite is a fantastic game title that is constantly changing, keeping it fresh for viewers of the competitive side of the game and I can’t wait to see Verox rocking their XL (EXCEL) tag at his next tournament,

All of these roster expansions in Fortnite were done from the back of a €20 Million investment round and opened a London “headquarters” while complementing its training facilities in the British Capital & Berlin.

“What drew me to signing with EXCEL was knowing that they have a great performance coaching structure and facilities where I can practice. I am also looking forward to growing as a player and working with EXCEL to create some great content to share with my fans.”
