The studio showed off all sorts of weapons, locations, and characters that players will expect to see and meet when they get their hands on the game. One of the trailers debuted a lot of information on the protagonist, Dani, and the other supporting characters.

Players will take on the role of Dani Rojas. who lived their whole life in the fictional country of Yara and wants to get out. However, after encountering the brutality of the country’s tyrannical regime firsthand, they decide to stay and fight against the evil government and liberate the people by joining a guerilla group.

For the first time in the series’ history, players will be able to choose Dani’s gender, allowing them to play as a man or woman. It appears that this will only be a personal choice and it does not affect any gameplay mechanics.

A separate trailer showed off more of the gameplay systems the player will interact with. Some of the standard Ubisoft fare was present, including a large open world, discovering vantage points throughout the country, and taking out enemy outposts. However, this game takes advantage of the guerilla warfare premise, including being able to craft weapons and using secret bases to get around.

One of the new, unique weapons is a backpack that can be changed based on what the player needs. It is not clear how many variations the backpack has but a flamethrower, mini hover-pack, and missile launcher were all shown. Other weapons can be crafted, including a gun that shoots records while it plays music.

More gameplay and information for the game will be revealed throughout the year before it comes out. Far Cry 6 is set to come out on October 7th of this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia.
