FaZe Reinstates Olofmeister as Stand-in After NiKo and Janko Depart

Following up on the transfer of Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač to G2, FaZe Clan has announced the confirmed return of two-time major winner Olof ‘Olofmeister’ Kajbjer and the exit of their coach Janko Paunović as immediate solutions for the lineup that will represent them at BLAST Premier Fall Series.

This will mark the return of Olofmeister to official matches after his stepping down from the active roster in May 23rd of this year, citing fatigue and lack of motivation to play on a high level.

Treading the path of NiKo, Janko Paunović will also step down as a coach from FaZe Clan, planning to take a break from coaching until 2021 and connecting his decision to providing an opportunity for the players to renew the staff and take on a new direction.

I feel that the best way to move forward is for the team and myself to part ways and, with NiKo going to G2, give the players and the organization the opportunity to get a new coach and IGL who can work on taking the team forward

Olofmeister will play for FaZe at least until the end of BLAST Premier Fall

It’s been a crazy year for the FaZe Clan Counter-Strike division, as Olofmeister will be the second stand-in to represent the team after Aurimas ‘Bymas’ Pipiras took his seat temporarily right before moving permanently to Mousesports.

The team has also added Markus ‘Kjaerbye’ Kjærbye in August after two years playing under the North jersey. The Dane has only played one event for FaZe Clan, the IEM New York: Europe, in which they secured first place, clean sweeping OG in the Grand-Finals.
