After the win against V1, we met with Magnum from the FNC team. Lots of questions about the match and how they managed to achieve this goal but also some personal questions… did you know he is a Scream? Read below for more info!
Below is the full transcript, where questions are written in bold, and Magnum’s response is written in a standard font.
After 6-3 in the second map you called a break even though you had just won the round, what was the strategy behind it?
Basically, the strategy was that we knew that they found out who we were playing and we wanted to make sure that everybody is in a position in the setups and we wanted to make sure the setup is correct, that’s why we took the timeout
The traits and teamwork were truely admirable today how hard did you work together to shut down V1’s aggressive nature?
We knew they’re really hard to play and they are like one of the best team in the world but we just came with the mindset that we want to win and we want to continue our journey and just the LAN, the stage and the hype make you move forward and the communication is even better, but of course sometimes one of us is shaking but still the reflex today were on a place and everything was on place and I think it worked pretty well even if we did some mistakes, but still I believe we are a good team and we are just trying to prove it.
This is your first big LAN event and you’ve been away from home for quite some time now, what’s the best thing for you to be away from home and also what are you missing?
The worst thing it’s of course my family and my girlfriend, I miss them, but the best thing, in general, being here on the stage with friend and teammates and it’s awesome to play on a stage like that with the teammates like the ones I have.
With this win you are probably going to face Team Liquid or Vikings, what would that mean to you all to have that EU battle for supremacy here in the knockout stage?
I’m personally rooting for Team Liquid, unfortunately, one of us has to go home and I’m not going home, I hope they’re gonna win against Vikings but it’s going to be a match between us and them, I just want to win and it means a lot to prove that in the final, which were between us and Liquid, we should have won that.
How have you found the transition to your usual Cypher to other agents?
I feel like each player in the team is flexible and in the past, I played each agent, so for me, it wasn’t that hard, I actually like the Killjoy for example but for the team comp it’s sometimes harder, but by the time it just got better and better and Boaster sets most of the setups and they’re insane and that’s why we’re here today.
On Icebox V1 made you sweat, what was the reason why you weren’t able to take that map so cleanly as you should have?
We definitely choked some rounds and made mistakes, but it’s LAN that happens and in the end, we chill out and we just think that we have to get better and stop making these mistakes and get those rounds and we did it.
In that overtime on Icebox, were you guys nervous as you were starting to getting back those 1v4 situations?
That’s what I was saying, there were a lot of mistakes, the LAN makes you shake sometimes and I think I was dead both times, so I was spectating.. actually in the second one I was spectating Boaster and I saw him shaking just like the nerves weren’t working and it happened to them as well… I mean it was pretty close but we won it.
When in retake situations did you guys come out with the different strategy to prevent Viper and Sova’s arrows to stopping you, did you practice it like the Sage’s wall?
We practised our Sage’s wall because most of the teams play opposed plant but I feel the better one is actually the team which plays it the most, and we didn’t make it before the match we just did it and I feel like they used the post plants to heal and Viper didn’t have a single molly like half the rounds and I think this is like a huge mistake they made but it is what it is and just reaction in the time and place.
Are there any players you specifically want to interact with?
I just like Scream, I’m his fanboy since CS:GO meta and he is the only guys I really respect, it’s still an enemy but it’s one guy that I always loved to see and talk to him.
