In Fortnite Chapter 2, we saw the addition of mythic weapons with one being in every new POI. Brutus has the Mythic Minigun in The Grotto, Midas has the Mythic Drum Gun at The Agency, Skye has the Mythic Assault Rifle and Grappler at The Shark, TNTina has the Mythic Boombow at The Rig, Deadpool has the Mythic Dual Pistols at The Yacht after kicking out Meowscles who now has the Mythic Heavy Assault Rifle at the Box Factory. Players who get these weapons can be at a huge advantage due to them being overpowered and existing only once per match.
Players have now found a workaround to essentially get Brutus’ Minigun without going to The Grotto. While there is only one Mythic Minigun per match, many Epic rarity Miniguns can be found throughout the map, usually carried by certain Henchmen but can also be found in chests and supply drops. In Chapter 2, the upgrade bench was added, which allows players to increase the rarity of their weapon in exchange for materials. Legendary Miniguns don’t spawn in the game, but JuniorPK (SypherPK’s brother) realized that if you upgrade the Epic Minigun to a Legendary Minigun, the stats are identical to the Brutus’ Minigun. The only difference is the crosshair is ever so slightly wider, which means accuracy is slightly worse.
In a video by SypherPK he compared the weapons and showed viewers that they were identical, allowing many players to carry a ‘Mythic’ Minigun in the match. The stats aren’t that much different to the Epic rarity, but every little bit helps in a fight.
Check out the video below. It’s been timestamped to the correct location. You can also watch the rest to see Sypher jump between both weapons to avoid the cooldown time:
