Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 was due to end on April 30th, but it has been announced today that the end date has been pushed back to June 4th, 2020.
Although no official word was given on the reason for the Fortnite Season 2 end date being changed, it is possible that the current global crisis is at least part of the reason. It’s also been said that Epic are aware of how few players are close to level 340, which is the level needed to unlock Golden Agent Peely, and many were likely to miss out on it.
In a recent blog post, Epic said;
We’re extending Chapter 2 – Season 2 of Fortnite beyond the original April 30 date. Our plan is to launch Chapter 2 – Season 3 on June 4.
Before then, there’s lots of content coming in the current Season. We have multiple game updates on the way that will deliver fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeve!
The new challenges and bonus XP will be great for players to unlock Golden Agent Peely, especially with the fact that progression won’t carry over to next season like it did between Season 5-X when you didn’t need to complete a skin style challenges by the end of the season and could finish it at a later date.
It’s unsure what the new challenges or updates will be, but it’s expected that a new update will be coming either Wednesday the 15th or Thursday the 16th, this week. I imagine more details of the new challenges will be revealed in the next Fortnite update.
