It’s massive. There’s no other way to word it. Fortnite’s Battle Royale is getting an exclusive look at the newest Star Wars feature film next Saturday. This isn’t the first crossover with the franchise for Fortnite. Star Wars fans also got the chance to buy Imperial Stormtrooper skin for the game in line with Jedi Fallen Order’s release.
Yes, you read that right. Fortnite is getting exclusive Star Wars content.
Fortnite has a history, now, of crossover events, and this one looks to be one of the most exciting! Recently, we have seen Thanos wield the Infinity Gauntlet AND had the chance to use Stormbreaker and Captain America’s shield! While there is little news on the actual event, unlike those previously, it is safe to say it will most likely not disappoint.
Players will be able to view the exclusive scene live from Risky Reels, an in-game location resembling a drive-in theatre. Doors are open from 13:30 Eastern Time, and the premiere begins at 14:00. The phrase “with J.J, Abrams” is used in the poster and leaked announcement, so there may be an exclusive message from the film’s director, too! Here’s a tweet with the scene being shown at Risky Reels now:
It would be best to keep an eye on the official Epic Games website for confirmation, but it all seems rather convincing from looking at Twitter trends.
Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is in cinemas on December 19. Check out the trailer below!
I, for one, hope that this is the start of more crossover events between Fortnite and Star Wars. We need a Baby Yoda backpack, right? Or even a Mandalorian-inspired skin. The potential is there, for sure!
