Starting the series on Vertigo, it was Virtus Pro to pull ahead by half-time with some major contributions from Mareks ‘YEKINDAR’ Gaļinskis. Even though Gambit would come online on the CT side and justify their map pick, it would be VP to close out the map 16-14, after streaking five rounds.

Gambit would get back into the series with a solid 16-6 victory in Dust2, as the team would score seven unanswered rounds on their offensive side of the map, shutting down VP.

Abay ‘Hobbit’ Khasenov would have a crack at the spotlight on Train, having a considerable impact on the 11 rounds that Gambit managed to conquer by the end of first half. The team eventually concluded the map on a 16-4 scoreline, edging over VP in the series.

Overpass was the fourth map of the series and Gambit looked unstoppable during its first half. Vladislav ‘nafany’ Gorshkov was at the top of his game, setting up his team for a successful 11-4 score.

Even with the win on the second pistol round, Virtus Pro was unable to take hold of the game, with Gambit putting them up against the ropes as they scored 15 and championship point.

It took them five rounds but the youngsters triumphed at the end, with a 3-1 series netting them the prestigious title of IEM Katowice 2021 champions.
