Genshin Impact: Albedo Character Guide

Updated:

Genshin Impact is a game with a lot of playable characters, this Albedo Guide should help you decide if he is the right one for your team. Below is everything you need to know about the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team!

In Genshin Impact, you need a team to take on everything Teyvat throws at you. Through the Prologue Chapter, Archon Quest, players gain access to a starter team. However, with elemental attacks a huge focus in combat, you might be looking to change up your team composition. But, what if you need a hand deciding?

This guide will have everything you need to know about Albedo, one of the unlockable playable characters in Genshin Impact.

In the world of Genshin Impact, Albedo is the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team for the Knights of Favonius. This allows him a degree of freedom about Mondstadt to work as he sees fit. Albedo is even, allegedly, able to create life with his alchemy! As a playable character, he wields a sword and utilises the Geo element.

Albedo’s titles include Kreideprinz and The Chalk Prince alongside his professional titles as Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team. The Chalk Prince could be a reference to his comparable talent with illustrations. He has been known to illustrate Xingqiu’s novels, however often leaves his own personal works half-finished.

Below, we’ve included the official character description of Albedo:

“ Albedo — an alchemist based in Mondstadt, in the service of the Knights of Favonius. Genius,” “Kreideprinz,” or “Captain of the Investigation Team”… Such titles and honors are of no consequence to him when there is so much more research to conduct. The pursuit of fortune and connections cannot hold a candle to his heart’s desire — acquiring the limitless, obscure knowledge left behind by previous generations of scholars.”

Following from this, we’re going to cover Albedo’s Constellation, his base stats, and then finally his Ascension Requirements. This Albedo Character Guide aims to be an easy-to-access information dump for all the basics you’d need if you want to add him to your Genshin Impact team. Therefore, below that I’ll add a couple comments about things like Team Composition and the Strengths and Weaknesses Albedo has.

Albedo’s Talents

Favonius Bladework – Weiss – Normal/ Charged Attack

Favonius Bladework – Weiss Is Albedo’s Normal/ Charged Attack.

Normally, this attack consists of up to 5 rapid strikes from his sword. Charged, it consumes a certain amount of stamina to quickly strike twice. As a plunging attack, Albedo damages all enemies in his path downwards and deals AoE DMG as he impacts the ground. This is a rather common Normal/ Charged Attack from Sword-Users.

Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma – Elemental Skill

This is Albedo’s Elemental Skill. With this, he creates a Solar Isotoma using alchemy that deals Geo AoE DMG on it’s appearance. It has the following properties:

  • When enemies take damage as a result of the Solar Isotoma, it will generate Transient Blossoms which deal Geo AoE DMG. This scales off of Albedo’s DEF stat and only generates every 2s.
  • When a character is located at the focus of the Solar Isotoma, it will accumulate Geo Power to form a crystallised platform that will lift the character.
  • Solar Isotoma is a Geo Construct.

Albedo players can hold the skill button to manipulate the location of the skill prior to casting.

Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide – Elemental Burst

This is Albedo’s Elemental Burst attack. Through this, he summons Geo Crystals to burst forward and deal Geo AoE DMG. If a Solar Isotoma is on the field, 7 Fatal Blossoms will be generated and burst to deal further Geo AoE DMG. The damage from these will not generate Transient Blossoms, however.

Calcite Might – Passive Talent 1

Transient Blossoms generated by a Solar Isotoma deal 25% more DMG to enemies under 50% HP.

Homuncular Nature – Passive Talent 2

Albedo’s Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide increases Elemental Mastery of nearby party members by 125 for 10s.

Flash of Genius – Passive Talent 3

When crafting any Weapon Ascension Materials, he has 10% chance to receive double the product..

Albedo’s Constellation

Flower of Eden – Constellation Level 1

Transient Blossoms generated by a Solar Isotoma regenerate 1.2 Energy for Albedo.

Opening of Phanerozoic – Constellation Level 2

Transient Blossoms generated by a Solar Isotoma grant Fatal Reckoning for 30s. This…

  • Fatal Reckoning increases DMG by 30% of Albedo’s DEF stat;
  • Fatal Reckoning can stack up to 4 times;

Using Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide consumes all stacks of Fatal Reckoning, increasing the DMG dealt by the Tide and any Fatal Blossoms.

Grace of Helios – Constellation Level 3

Increases the level of Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma by 3, with a Max Level of 15.

Descent of Divinity – Constellation Level 4

Solar Isotoma’s increase Plunging Attack DMG by 30% for all active party members inside the AoE radius.

Tide of Hadaen – Constellation Level 5

Increases the level of Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide by 3, with a Max Level of 15.

Dust of Purification – Constellation Level 6

If a shield created by Crystallize is present within the Solar Isotoma’s AoE, it increases that party member’s DMG by 17%.

Thoughts On Albedo?

Albedo’s higher HP makes him a fantastic pick for both a Geo DMG-focused team and a mixed group. His basic attack deals basic DMG, making him viable in most fights, however he is undoubtedly a much more efficient character pick against enemies with low Geo RES.

Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma can be a fantastic Elemental Skill to use to turn the tide of a fight or end one quickly thanks to it increasing DMG against lower-HP enemies with Calcite Might.

It is also worth noting that Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide can be useful in clearing a group of lower-HP enemies thanks to it’s Fatal Blossom-spawning and Geo AoE DMG capabilities.

Albedo is also worth having if you’re looking to craft Weapon Ascension Materials, this is due to the fact that Flash of Genius gives him 10% chance of receiving double the product.
