The world of Teyvat holds many mysteries including quests that you probably never knew existed. Nine Pillars of Peace is one of those quests. It is the longest world quest in Liyue and tells you a little bit about the mysterious location in Cuijue Slope. If you are ready for this adventure here is the guide on the Nine Pillars of Peace quest in Genshin Impact.

Table of Contents

  • Collecting Geoculi
  • Pillars of Peace
  • The Ruin and its Guard
  • The Dull Ring

Collecting Geoculi

Geoculus

The quest has quite a bit of grind waiting for you at the beginning. Before starting the quest you will need to acquire nine stones of remembrance. Each of the stones is a reward for leveling up the Geo Archon statue. To unlock all nine the statue needs to be maxed out to level 10.

The grindy part is that to level up the statue you have to collect 130 Geoculi scattered across the land of Liyue. And not all of them are up in the sky waiting to be grabbed, some will require a bit of puzzle-solving, fighting, and side quest completing. It sounds like a lot, and it is. This is why take your time exploring Liyue and don’t rush with collecting everything in one go. It’s the best way to enjoy the journey.

On the other hand, what I highly encourage you to do is to use this interactive map. It has locations of all the Geoculi and hints on getting them. Use this to keep track of which ones you’ve already collected. Trust me, you don’t want to be left with 10 Geoculi to collect and no track of where can they be. Learned it the hard way.

Cuijue Slope

Now that you finished your cross-country trip, it is time to put the stone of remembrance to use. You don’t have to pick the quest from anywhere, just head to the Cuijue Slope, and the world quest will appear itself. Once in Cuijue Slope, the skies will become darker and the ominous music will occasionally be playing. In this valley, you will find nine stone pillars. Those pillars look a little like a big version of Zhongli’s pillar.

Climb every pillar and find a hole closer to the top of it. Those holes are for the remembrance stones you just acquired. After inserting the stone the pillar will transform, lift a part of the seal on the door and grant you an Exquisite chest. Insert all nine stones in all nine pillars and get ready for what comes next.

The Ruin and its Guard

Fighting chamber

After inlaying the final stone the seal on will be lifted and the door to the ruin will open. Down in the ruin you will find a big chamber with a Ruin Guard sitting in the middle. The Ruin Guard is not the only enemy you will have to fight.

There are three stages in this encounter (all the enemies are the highest level your World Level allows):

  • Stage 1. Ruin Guard
  • Stage 2. Two Geovishap Hatchlings
  • Stage 3. Ruin Hunter

Throughout the encounter, the infusion stones will spawn. Infusion stones are totems that buff the enemies on the field by a mile. As soon as one spawns make sure to destroy it. At the last stage, the infusion stones will spawn with traps around them and geovishap hatchlings. Both will disappear as soon as the stone is broken.

We have a dedicated guide for fighting a Ruin Guard. The Ruin Hunter shares the characteristics of a Ruin Guard but it can also fly. The best way to deal with it is to have a bow user hit its weak spots or characters that can constantly freeze it. Make sure to grab a claymore user to quickly destroy the infusion stones as well.

The Dull Ring

Ruin rewards

The reward chamber will have a Luxurious and Precious chest, a tablet with a bit of lore, and a 5-star artifact (Flower from Noblesse Oblige set). In the Luxurious chest, you will find a Dull ring. Paimon suggests that you find someone who has “an eye for antiques”.

There are two vendors in Liyue who will express interest in buying antiques. Linlang of the antique shop and Bolai from “Wanyou Boutique”. Both will have a different offer in exchange for your ring.

  • Linlang: x200 000 Mora
  • Bolai: x180 000 Mora + 5 Adeptus Temptaion

Pick whichever offer you like the most. If you do not have a bunch of Adeptus soup already cooked, Bolai’s offer is great. But twenty thousand Mora is not that much of a difference anyway unless you are really low on money.

Selling the ring will award you with an achievement “Scourge of the Battlefield”. Well, there we are. The artifact is sold, money is made, and a mystery of the pillars is solved. My congratulations to you Traveler!
