Ghostrunner, All in! Games’ Cyberpunk action-fest, has a playable demo out now on Steam. You must ascend a towering city plagued with violence and chaos to discover the secrets of the world, yourself, and how to challenge The Keymaster.
You may not have heard about Ghostrunner, but it could be the perfect game to fill that cyberpunk hole in your life before Cyberpunk 2077 comes out later this year. The best way to describe it would be if Dishonoured met Superhot and had a futuristic baby.
“ In the ashes of a broken and chaotic world, life is cheap and death is always around the corner… A massive tower houses the survivors of the apocalypse and it’s up to you to reveal the mystery… “
I found out about this game after looking into the All in! Games library following my Tools Up! Review. It’s safe to say I was instantly much more interested in this title. From the trailer below, you get a good look at what the game might offer:
The announcement that the demo has been released came via Ghostrunner’s twitter account… If you can read it…
Ghostrunner is a first-person slasher that features parkour-inspired movement, enhanced movement mechanics, and brutal dismemberments. It looks like it’s following in Cyberpunk 2077’s footsteps. Arguably, it could be a part of the promotion material, as it looks that good! As a cyborg-type ninja, you feel perfectly in place amongst the dystopian city around you and the neons overhead.
There’s a lot in the gameplay that also reminds me of the Dishonoured series. Mainly, it’s the outrageous leaping assassination kills and dash slashing. The gameplay looks to take notes from the bullet-time mechanics featured in Max Payne titles; not only this, but there are also definite Superhot vibes, too!Â
If you like any of these games, I would highly recommend checking out Steam for the Demo. Ghostrunner is due to launch later this year. For more of the latest gaming news, reviews, features, and more… Check out @GamezoGG on Twitter and see Gamezo.co.uk for everything else!
