Despite it being available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One now…. The Ghostrunner Switch release has been delayed until next month.
With Cyberpunk 2077 being delayed for the fourth time just days ago, Ghostrunner is a title that could very-well fill that Cyberpunk-themed hole in your gaming life. It’s a first-person, Cyberpunk-themed hack and slash that has the player utilising fluid traversal techniques for cinematic kill sequences. It was released recently, however, one market is missing… Switch players will be saddened to hear that Ghostrunner is delayed on the Nintendo console until next month.
All In! Games, Ghostrunner‘s development team, didn’t reveal the specific reason behind the delay. In place of a specific reason, they explained that the delay was “to provide players the best experience possible”. It may be a PR Statement staple that fans have seen time-and-time again over the last few months, but I think it’s safe to say that developers should be allowed the extra time criticism-free given the current state of the world.
There should also be news regarding an updated release schedule in the coming days, according to All In! Games. This reassurance will come as a comfort to some fans and the news will most-likely be announced via the team’s social media channels.
The Ghostrunner Switch release might be delayed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it on other platforms. Ghostrunner is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
If you’re on the fence about buying it on current-gen consoles, fear not! Ghostrunner offers a free next-generation upgrade for anyone who owns it. This means you won’t have to wait until the unspecified 2021 release of the game on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, if you are worried about spending double for it.
