Danish in-game leader Lukas ‘gla1ve’ Rossander has announced that he will be taking a hiatus from playing CS:GO. His place on the Astralis lineup will be filled by Jakob ‘JUGI’ Hansen, who recently signed a contract with the organization. In a Twitlonger, gla1ve explained that he has faced medical problems over the past few months.
Gla1ve is undoubtedly one of the best IGLs to ever touch Counterstrike. With him at the helm, Astralis has won four Majors and became one of the most dominant teams in the history of the game. But recently, this success started to take its toll on the player. In a Twitlonger, he explains that “For a longer period I have had symptoms of stress and burnout. My teammates and the Astralis organization have tried many different things to help me out and overcome this. As it’s still going on, my doctor and I have decided that I need a break. Yesterday I have given a sick note to Astralis.”
Gla1ve goes on to say that he’ll be out of action for roughly three months. This means that he will be out of action for DreamHack Masters Spring and BLAST Premier Europe Showdown. But we will probably see him return for the next Road to Rio event, as teams have to field the same lineup at risk of losing points.
Astralis will be using the following lineup at the afformentioned events:
Nicolai ‘device‘ Reedtz
Peter ‘dupreeh‘ Rasmussen
Andreas ‘Xyp9x’ Højsleth
Emil ‘Magisk‘ Reif
Jakob ‘JUGi‘ Hansen
