GTA Online: Clubhouse Businesses (“The Open Road”)

Updated:
GTA: Online The Open Road

If you have just arrived in Los Santos and are exploring the town, you will find that there are many options for starting your own “shady” business. One of them is buying the Clubhouse and starting the Motorcycle Club.

Clubhouses were introduced in the GTA Bikers update and include all kinds of illegal money-making: document forgery, drug smuggling, fake cash manufacturing, and more.

Founding the Motorcycle Club

The very first step you have to take is to buy a Clubhouse. It might look a bit expensive but it offers you new sources of income and more fun ways to play GTA: Online.

You can buy the Clubhouse on the Maze Bank Foreclosure website. Filter the properties by clicking the “Clubhouses” category and browse through all the available buildings.

The price range varies and depends on the location. Clubhouses in the town will be more expensive than the others. You can start by buying one in the countryside. They may be far but since the missions don’t start at the Clubhouse itself there is no strategic disadvantage.

Now that you own a Clubhouse you can start a Motorcycle Club. It is necessary to access the computers in the facilities and launching missions.

You can start and manage the Motorcycle Club at any time, from any place via the Interaction Menu (“M” button on PC).

You can invite your friends or other players to your club. There are different roles you can assign them with different permissions to help you manage the club. Note: the club will be disbanded as soon as you log out. When you log in next time you will need to start it again and invite new members (all the settings will be saved).

There is plenty of customization that you can do to make your club stand out but you can explore that at your own pace. Now it is time to start making money.

Accessing “The Open Road” Network

Now that you are a president of the Motorcycle Club you can start your work managing different businesses. This is where “The Open Road” comes in. “The Open Road” is the network operated by Lester and is used for purchasing and managing different warehouses.

You can access this network by logging in to your laptop in the Clubhouse. It is marked on your map and has an orange “The Open Road” logo on it.

Here you can see the businesses you already own or buy a new one from five available categories:

  • Document Forgery
  • Counterfeit Cash manufacturing
  • Weed farming
  • Methamphetamine production
  • Cocaine production

You can only own one of each type of warehouse. So if you want to get a new Document Forgery Office, you will have to trade in the old one that will result in you losing the stock and supplies that were in it.

The cheapest buildings are located outside of Los Santos. But the location also affects the difficulty of the sales. Needless to say that driving all the way from the countryside will give more opportunities for your rivals to try and steal your shipment.

Every property has an upkeep cost. You will pay it every certain period of playtime. It’s not super expensive but make sure to have extra cash when working in the Motorcycle Club.

Managing “The Open Road” Businesses

Each warehouse will have an introductory mission that will give you the first batch of supplies to kickstart the business. To get more supplies, get upgrades or sell your stock, you will have to drive to your warehouse and manage it from there.

Drive to the property you want to manage and enter it. In every warehouse, there is another laptop you can access. This is also a part of “The Open Road” network but it is a bit different. You can tell that it is a warehouse laptop if it is in green color.

On this laptop, you can see the stats of the particular warehouse you’re in. That includes your current stock, its value, sell success rate, and how much of your production has been lost.

As the business is automated you will have to keep an eye on the level of stock and supplies. Without the supplies, the warehouse will not produce anything. The same goes if the stock is full. To balance the scales you can launch sell/resupply missions from this laptop.

You can also buy upgrades to increase the efficiency of the warehouse or shut it down if you are not using it at the moment. Shutting business down will put it in sleep mode. You will still own the place and upgrades but it will not operate and you will pay less upkeep cost for it. Make sure to sell all the stock before shutting it down because it will get lost.

Final Words

That’s about everything you need to know about the Clubhouse businesses and how to operate “The Open Road” network. You can find a more detailed description of properties and missions here. Time to make some money, don’t let anyone stop you, whether these are rival clubs that are after you, or the police and the government. Los Santos is yours!
