In a tweet earlier today, 343 Industries confirmed that you’ll soon be able to play Halo 3: ODST on PC thanks to the Master Chief Collection!
Suit up, strap in, and prepare to return to New Mombassa.
Halo 3: ODST is a fairly unique Halo title and one that is a sought-after addition to the Master Chief Collection. Rather than playing as ol’ Master Chief, you actually play as a grunt, although you’re not a really basic grunt… You play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper: an ODST.
Halo 3: ODST was originally released in 2009 on the Xbox 360, so PC players have had a long wait. Unlike other Halo titles, it also features the Firefight mode! This is a horde-like survival mode which pushes co-operation and survival to it’s limit. The original release of ODST had Halo 3‘s multiplayer shipped with it, but Firefight offers up a nice change of pace for players to get stuck into.
Halo 3: ODST on PC? Hell Yeah.
There isn’t a whole lot else to learn from 343 Industries’ announcement, but that’s okay! If the previous additions to the Master Chief Collection are anything to go by, then Halo 3: ODST is going to be added as close to it’s original version as possible. Well, it should look a little better!
Although there is still no news on the release of Halo: Infinite, previously sheduled as a possible launch title for the next generation of Xbox consoles… This should give Halo fans something to play for a bit, right?
