LiGe was signed at the beginning of the 2021 season but has received little playing time over his counterpart Se-won “BERNAR“ Shin since the season began.

LiGe took to Chinese social media website Weibo back in March to discuss his battles with poor mental health and Spark’s attempts to aid him. After the announcement that he would become a two-way player, LiGe went to Weibo again to explain that he had personally applied for the transfer.

In a translation from OWBeacon on Twitter, LiGe states: “I haven’t been playing well recently, so I applied for this transfer and received lots of support from the org. I will apply to go back as soon [as] I return to good form. Hope everyone can support this decision.

This is not the only move the Spark has made in recent months, back in July, the Spark released head coach Jaeong “Andante” Hwang and assistant coach Chung-in “Mentalist” Kim from the organization after failing to qualify for the Summer Showdown playoffs.

The Spark’s next match will be against the Philadelphia Fusion on Sunday, August 1st at 8:00 AM EST/1:00 PM BST
