Heroic Add Sjuush and Refrezh to the Roster

Updated:

Heroic has announced this Friday its first set of roster changes in 10 months, with the addition of Rasmus ‘Sjuush’ Beck and Ismail ‘Refrezh’ Ali, just one hour after revealing that Johannes ‘b0rup’ Borup and Nikolaj ‘Niko’ Kristensen would be moved to the bench.

Since Heroic acquired Nikolaj ‘Niko’ Kristensen in April of 2020, the team surged in the World rankings, finding huge success during online events and most recently scoring some major financial backing, as they were acquired by Omaken Sports.

However, it wasn’t until June that the organisation would strike gold, completing its underdog arc with an impeccable triumph at ESL One Cologne 2020, up against the highest level of competition.

The team came back for more with the first place at DreamHack Open Fall 2020, a Regional Major Rankings tournament. This victory placed the team in the second spot of the 2020 RMR rankings in Europe.

Heroic kicked off 2021 with a 3rd-4th placement at cs_summit 7, looking to show better colours after lacklustre results towards the end of last year. But a group stage exit at IEM Katowice 2021 after losses against Spirit and Gambit may have been enough to pull the plug on Johannes ‘b0rup’ Borup and Niko.

One hour later, Heroic revealed their replacements in Sjuush and Refrezh, which have been transfered from their Danish rivals at MAD Lions. This will be the second time in 2021 that the Lions are left without a complete roster, after Frederik ‘AcoR’ Gyldstrand signed for Mousesports.

We have had a successful run with the last roster but we feel that we can come even further with these changes to the team. Being in this situation, we are very happy that the new Heroic is capable of providing these changes so quickly, for the bettering of the team.

The team will have a short period to bring these two new players up to speed, with the new Heroic roster set to debut two weeks from now in the ESL Pro League Season 13.
