Updated:

UPDATE: The Montreal Police have now said on Twitter that “no threat has been identified for now”. The 911 call is now being treated as a hoax and the police are trying to figure out who’s responsible for the call.

News outlets are reporting that there is currently an ongoing hostage situation at Ubisoft Montreal. Their headquarters, located at the corner of Saint-Laurent and Saint-Viateur, is currently an advised no-go area via Police Montreal.

The Montreal Police is currently in the verification stage of the incident and cannot confirm any details, according to local news outlet TVA nouvelles:

Canadian Twitter account @WeAreCanProud revealed the news earlier today in an article from The Post Millennial. You can see their tweet below:

The situation is being handled by Police Montreal at the time of writing. However, they have advised those in Montreal to avoid the area around Ubisoft’s HQ there.

Twitter user @tvanouvelles, a local news station, has shared imagery of what appears to be Ubisoft Montreal’s staff on the rooftop of their building. This appears to confirm earlier reports that dozens of employees were trapped within the building.
