How to end warmup in CSGO

When creating a custom game in CS:GO you have to tweak many, many things. Like round time, default weapons, maximum rounds, and warmup time. In this guide, we will tell you how to end warmup in CSGO and any useful commands that come along.

There are a few different commands to end warmup in CS:GO. Each of them is useful in a specific situation, but to use any of them, make sure that you have your developer console enabled in CS:GO. It is your main tool to enter commands that alter gameplay in the game.

Standard Command to End Warmup in CS:GO

A command to instantly end warmup in CS:GO is mp_warmup_end. As soon as you enter it in the console the warmup ends and the game launches according to all the rules/commands you might have entered before.

End Warmup After a Certain Time

Even though 60 seconds of default warmup is annoyingly long, it’s not always the best option to end it instantly. Maybe there are some commands you have to check, or just make sure that none of your friends are experiencing any issues. In this case, you can shorten the warmup time by setting a
mp_warmuptime a command followed by the desired warmup time.

The time is measured in seconds so if you want to set the warmup time for 30 seconds, enter mp_warmuptime 30 into the console. This command is also great if you need more time instead. You can extend the warmup time pretty much indefinitely and then end it with an instant command. Very useful in server preparation for the game.

End Warmup When Enough Players Join

If you are playing a custom game with a couple of your friends, there is a useful command that will end warmup once a certain number of players is connected. This way, you will not have to restart the game if one of your friends connected late. You can simply enjoy the warmup while the players with potato PCs load.

By default, the warmup in CSGO will end once all the player slots are taken, those can be adjusted via commands like mp_limitteams 0 and mp_autoteambalance 0. But sometimes getting those to work the way you want can be a pain.

The command to end warmup when a certain number of players are connected is mp_endwarmup_player_count, followed by a number of required players. For example, if there are 6 of you and you want to end warmup when everyone joined, enter mp_endwarmup_player_count 6.

Turn Warmup Off When Playing With Bots

If you are in for a session of playing solo with bots, there is a command that will turn the warmup off for all the offline matches you play. As long as you don’t leave the server. If you do, you will have to re-enter the command. The command is mp_do_warmup_offline 0. As always, if you want to turn the warmup back on, change the number in the command from 0 to 1, and enter the command in your console.
