Pokemon Sword Shield: Togepi Evolution Guide

Published:

In Pokemon Sword Shield, the Togepi Evolution isn’t as simple as it seems. However, it isn’t too hard either. Here’s everything you need to know about the Spike Ball Pokemon…

Okay, I didn’t actually know that Togepi was the ‘Spike Ball’ Pokemon, either, but Togepi is one of the more recognizable Pokemon out there nowadays thanks to their appearance as Misty’s Pokemon in the Pokemon Anime.

Thankfully, finding a Togepi isn’t too hard in Pokemon Sword & Shield despite their rarity.

They can be found in the Bridge Field area of the Galar region map at a base 2% spawn rate. However, this is upped to 5% when there’s heavy fog.

On top of all this, they spawn as random hidden encounters, so you won’t see one wandering about the tall grass. If you look for red exclamation points while you’re there, this should help you find them.

Once you find a Togepi, be sure to try and catch one using a Friend Ball or a Luxury Ball. This’ll help with the evolution progress…

How To Start The Togepi Evolution In Pokemon Sword Shield

In order to evolve Togepi into Togetic, you have to keep Togepi happy. It’s harder than it sounds, but there are plenty of ways you can increase your Pokemon’s happiness.

For starters, include Togepi in as many battles as you can. Make sure you feed it curry while at camp alongside giving them berries and vitamins whenever you can! A Soothe Bell can be helpful, so if you have one, make sure Togepi is holding it.

Eventually, this will cause Togepi to evolve! Then, if you want to go one step further to a Togekiss, all you need is a Shiny Stone.
