Building your dream place will require lots of attention and customization tools. Here’s how to size objects up and down in The Sims 4.

You can do many moves in The Sims 4 with the game’s interface. For example, to move items from one place to another, simply select and move them. However, when it comes to changing the size of items, our solution is in shortcuts.

In this guide, we will tell you how to size objects up and down in The Sims 4. This guide is valid for both PC and console versions.

How to Resize Objects in The Sims 4 on PC

The main platform of the Sims series has always been the PC. Therefore, the controls of the PC version are more comfortable than the console.

To change the size of items in The Sims 4 on PC, follow these steps:

  • Step One: Select the item you want to increase or decrease its size.
  • Step Two: With the item selected, press the Shift + ] to increase or Shift + [ to decrease the size. The size of the object will gradually change
  • Step Three: Release the keys and drop the item in place.

Now you have a larger (or smaller) version of your item and you can move it to the desired point fo your house or garden.

How to Resize Objects in The Sims 4 on Console (PS4/PS5 or Xbox One)

If you’re playing The Sims 4 on console, what you need to do is a little more complicated. For this, you need to follow the steps below using your gamepad:

To change the size of items in The Sims 4 on PS4/PS5, follow these steps:

  • Step One: Select the item you want to increase or decrease its size.
  • Step Two: With the item selected, Press and hold the L2 + R2 keys simultaneously. While holding it down, press up on the D-Pad to increase or down on the D-Pad to decrease the size.
  • Step Three: Release the buttons and put the item down

Make items bigger in The Sims 4 on Xbox One:

  • Step One: Select the item you want to increase or decrease its size.
  • Step Two: With the item selected, hold LT + RT and press up on the D-Pad to increase or down on the D-Pad to decrease the size.
  • Step Three: Release the buttons and put the item down

While it may seem a little more complicated to enlarge objects on consoles, it is actually quite easy. You can make a huge potted flower by following the steps above.

The game has only one rule about enlarging or shrinking objects. No object can be made smaller than its original size. So you can’t make a tiny refrigerator.
