Stardew Valley is one of the biggest indie games that have come out in the past decade. It offers players a chance to move up in its world and create a sustainable environment around their character. And to move up in this world, the three most essential things are time, energy, and gold, along with cooking food. Now, gold can be hard to get but not when you know how to make wine and sell it in Stardew Valley.

The game starts with the player inheriting the land from their grandfather and further taking care of the farm. However, Stardew Valley is much more than just a farming game. Players can also interact and build relationships with other villagers in the game. Once the players learn to level up their farming game, they can sell kegs of wine to earn some good money.

Upon reaching Farming Level 8, players can unlock the recipe to craft a Keg used to store the wine. Here are the materials required to craft a Keg in Stardew Valley:

  • 1 Iron Bar
  • 30 Wood
  • 1 Copper Bar
  • 1 Oak Resin

Once you craft the Keg, you can store wine into them. Players can make wines with different kinds of fruits, and the price will differ for each kind of wine.

If you already have the fruit, interact with the Keg while holding the fruit, and put the fruit inside the Keg. Then, wait for six in-game days to ferment the wine.

Although, if you want to get the most out of it, you need to age it. In essence, wine aging will increase the value of wine as it becomes rarer over the years.

With that said, to make the best wine in Stardew Valley, you need to know which fruits to gather.

The Best Fruits to Make Wine in Stardew Valley

Simple fruits might not appear to be valuable, but don’t judge them on their face value. Many fruits can become wine in the future and offer players value upon investing some time. Stardew wine is a guaranteed money maker, which is why you’ll see players putting casks wherever they can find a place.

So without further ado, here are the best fruits to make wine in Stardew Valley.

It is savvy to invest in a Pomegranate tree as early as possible in the Autumn season. You can purchase Pomegranate saplings from Pierre’s General Store. The price tag of 7500g will quickly pay off with the onset of autumn, so it’s worth buying in advance.

The cost of a single Pomegranate Fruit is 140g on its own, and a bottle of Pomegranate wine is 420g and 588g for the Artisan Profession. Not all fruits are worth more than 1000g for their wines, but iridium-quality Pomegranate wines can be worth as much as 1176g. That’s why it’s wise to farm a Pomegranate tree for your financial and community welfare.

Crystal Fruit

Crystal fruit is grown during the extreme winter season. Suppose you have access to an adequate supply of Winter Seeds to produce winter foraging items such as crocuses, snow yams, winter roots, and crystal fruit. These are the only seeds that can grow during the harsh winter season.

However, Winter Seeds are usually obtained using Crafting Recipes or the Seed Maker by converting Foraged Winter Items found in the Valley. Winter roots can be placed in Seed makers to produce 1 to 3 Seeds, while the Level 7 Foraging recipe requires one item each (Crocus, Snow Yam, Winter Root, and Crystal Fruit) to craft 10 Seeds.

The only good part about the winter climate is you don’t need to worry about crows harming the crops.

You can sell Crystal Fruit for about 150g, and that’s why it is beneficial to grow Winter Seeds and yield profit from them. But if you convert it into wine, you can get 450g (630g for Artisan Profession).

Banana

Getting your hands on a Banana Fruit is tricky, but its value is undeniably significant. Players have to travel to Ginger Island to get its sapling first to get a banana.

The other means by which you can obtain Banana Saplings are:

  • Complete the Large Animal fossil collection, and then Professor Snails will offer you a sapling.
  • Trading of 5 Dragon Teeth with Island Trader.

Once you get a sapling, it will take around 28 in-game days to grow into a full-fledged banana tree. Keep in mind that the banana tree can only be raised during the summer season.

While the cost of a single banana is 150g, banana wine is worth 450g. Further, with the Artisan Profession, the banana wine will be worth around 630g a bottle and 1260g per bottle of Iridium quality wine.

Ancient Fruit is a rare find in the game but worth every second invested in finding it. These plants can yield fruits constantly, so you must harvest and not worry about planting new seeds. There are several ways to obtain this precious fruit seed:

  • Museum Reward: Gunther will reward you with Ancient seeds when you find and donate the Ancient seed artifact. Gunther also provides recipes for converting artifacts into plantable seeds once you donate an ancient seed to the museum.
  • Seed Maker: This process does not work every time. However, when you put any crop into the Seed Maker, there is always a 0.5% possibility of getting an Ancient seed.
  • Traveling Cart: Traveling Cart is a smuggler shop and always has something valuable that you need. The Cart appears from the south of the farm in Cindersap Forest on Fridays and Sundays. However, there is a 1.26% possibility that the Cart carries Ancient seeds, and if it does, you can get them between 100-1000g.

A key point to remember is to plant the Ancient seed in the Greenhouse so that plants don’t die from the frost and continue to produce fruits.

These Ancient seeds are inedible, so you can only use them to make wine. The base price of Ancient Fruit wine with Artisan Profession is 2310g, and Iridium quality is worth 4620g per bottle.

The only thing you must do is harvest the fruits and age the wine. Moreover, If you plan to have a complete Ancient Fruits Greenhouse and turn them to produce Iridium quality wine, you will earn around 535,920g, which is over half a million.
